(2) I'll set you Free

Lapis POV
The school day ended and I waited outside for Peridot, I see a little blonde scurry out pass the crowd, making me giggle. She ran up to me.
"So! Are you allowed?"
I looked at her confused.
"Like, did you ask your parents?"
I went silent.
"....no.."
She looked at me confused but I guess she shrugged it off.
"Okay! Let's go!"
I try to shrug it off too and walk along with her.
Her house is only a few minutes down the road so it's not a long way away. We arrive at her apartment, we enter and see a woman.
"Oh there's my Peri! How are you!?"
She then looks at me.
"Oh are you Peri's friend?"
I nod awkwardly.
"Hello darling! I'm Peri's mother!"
I tense up a bit, I put in a fake smile and shake her hand.
"Mam! What are you doing here?"
She stood up.
"Well, I know you're good at technology and stuff so I was wondering if you could fix my computer when you're free!"
Her Mam passes the computer to Peridot.
"Well I'll be off! "
"Bye Mam!"
Peridot says.
"Goodbye umm..?"
"Oh just call me Mam!"
I start to tear up a bit.
"O-okay..b-bye m-Mam..."
She didn't notice and closed the door, Peridot then notices the tears crawling down my face.
"Oh my stars Lapis! Are you okay!?"
She jumps off the couch to get to me but I start to run to find a bathroom, since the place is small I found it easily and I lock myself in there.
Peri POV
"Lapis!? LAPIS!"
I shout, banging on the bathroom door, I hear sniffles and sobs.
"Lapis....tell me what's wrong..."
I hear footsteps come close and she opened the door, her tear stained face made me frown more.
"It's just....when your mom said I could call her mom....I just...."
She starts to tear up again, rubbing her eyes with her wrist.
"I'm sorry I'm causing you to go through this...."
"..lapis.."
I hug her, I feel her tense up, she then relaxes and starts to sob on my shoulder.
"...do you want to talk about it?"
I feel her head nod on my shoulder, we walk to my bedroom and we sit down on my bed.
"Okay...."
Lapis says, making sure she doesn't cry.
"This whole scenario started a few years ago, it was my 14th birthday and me, my Mam and my dad went to the fair, we had so much fun.."
She tears up again, she breathes in and out to calm down.
"We were on our way home, and we were crossing the road, I being my venturous self, ran across, a car was going over speed limit and my Mam ran onto the road and pushed me aside and she....was hit..." Lapis starts tearing up again.
"A few days later she was announced dead. My dad blamed me for it, for another year my dad made me do all the housework and then after that he left me by commiting suicide...."
My eyes widen.
"I then went to live with my now ex girlfriend Jasper.....and she done somethings which I do not feel comfortable talking about and that leads us to here..."
I sat there shocked, she literally said her entire life story.
"..lapis I-...I'm so sorry.."
I grab her arm gently but she flinches in pain. I look up at her and she looks at me fearful.
"Lapis....can I see your arm.."
She shakes her head no, but I'm not taking no for an answer.
"Lapis...please.."
She looks away, but nods. I slowly and carefully grab her hand, I pulled up the sleeve. Across her arm are many straight cuts, some looked new, some were now scabs.
"Lapis...."
"Nothing can help me Peridot..."
I look at her determined.
"I'm going to help you!"
She looks at me like I'm stupid.
"Peridot it's too late, I'm broken, I'm trapped in a hell that I can't escape!"
I looked at her in the eyes, making myself clear.

"Lapis, I want to set you free.."
