(3) The Night-Call

Peridot POV
I grab the first aid kit from my drawer and help Lapis' wounds, she flinches when I try to use the disinfectant spray.
I finally get her bandaged up.
I let Lapis sleepover for the night after yesterday, since it is a weekend it was alright, I wake up and look down at the bluenette sleeping, a bit of drool came out of her mouth along with soft snores, it was adorable. I feel my face heat up as I study her features, she has a few close to invisible freckles which were adorable. Her eyes flutter open and her oceanic eyes look up at me, my face heats up more and I jump off the bed with a thud.
"Ow!"
I groan.
"Oh are you okay?"
Lapis asks, I see her pop into view.
"Yeah I'm fine! How'd you sleep?"
I ask, rubbing my sore head.
"It's been FOREVER! Since I slept, it felt so nice!"
I smiled knowing that she felt better, we both got up and made breakfast.
She grabs her things and was ready to head home, before she left, I have her a piece of paper.
"What's this?"
"I you feel like doing....it...call me, promise me you'll do that!"
I say looking up to her.
"I will, thank you.. Well goodbye!"
She walks out and goes her way home.
"..bye.."
Lapis POV
'Why did I tell her my whole life!? W-we only met! Ugh! Now she'll think I'm some depressed loner who holds too many grudges FOR DIAMONDS SAKE LIFE!'
I walk down the sidewalk and I bump into someone small.
"Ow, sorry miss!"
The voice.
"Steven!?"
I look down at the small boy.
"Lapis!"
He jumps and hugs me.
"Steven! What are you doing here?"
He lets go still smiling.
"Well, my cousins and I were coming here to meet up with Connie, well I was meeting up with Connie, the others were gonna drive around! Actually did you see Connie?"
"No? Who's Connie?"
"Oooh never mind, Lapis we need to meet up sometime!"
I smile down at him.
"Sure buddy!"
I rub his hair, I then proceed to walk away.
"I'll see you around Steven!"
"Bye Lapis!"
(Timeskip to night)
Peridot POV
I sat in bed on my phone. My phone buzzes and I see an unknown number, I tap on it and it brings me to the chat.
'Peridot? Is this you?'
It must be Lapis.
'Lapis?'
'Yeah?'
'Do you feel like...?'
I waited for a response when I get an emoji.
'😔'
'Wanna talk?'
'....'
'Yes..'
My phone starts ringing and I answer.
"Lapis? Are you okay?"
I hear sniffles.
"No...I don't know why this happens to me...."
"Shh Lapis it's okay!"
"..okay*hic*"
I want to jump through the phone and hug her, I want to see her and comfort her, I just want to be there.
"What's bothering you?"
"Silence.."
"What?"
"The silence is killing me..."
"Lapis.."
"I don't want to be alone anymore..."
"Lapis you have me, you're not alone-"
"But I am alone, here, once we end the call, I'm alone.....I don't like it.."
She sobs.
"Lapis!"
I hear a little gasp escape her.
"Listen! You don't have to be alone, I want to be there for you..."
"Why, why do you want to I'm just a depressed loner who sits and cries all day!"
"Because Lapis! You're the first friend I had since highschool and I don't want you to go through this alone.."
I hear her sniff.
"Can I come over..?"
"..sure.."
She hangs up and I get ready for her to knock. A few minutes later I hear a knock and run to the door and open it, all of a sudden a pair of arms wrap around me, I look down at Lapis, she seems pale, her hair is a mess.
"Lapis.."
"I don't want to be alone anymore!"
She sobs on my shoulder.
"Lapis...I never thought I'd asked someone this but, do you want to move in with me?"
