12) A Birthday!

Peridot POV
I woke up when my phone buzzed, I checked to see Lapis texting me.
L: Hey Peri!
P: Lapis we live in the same household!
L: I know but....
P: But?
Suddenly someone burst through the door with a big card and breakfast.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
I jump.
"DIAMONDS SAKE LAPIS!!"
She starts laughing. Her snorts start making me giggle too. She hands the breakfast tray and card to me.
"Thanks Lapis!"
"No problem!"
She salutes me and we both giggle more. She then ran out of the room and she soon runs back in and jumps in the bed beside me with her own breakfast.
"Ha! Don't think you'll be having breakfast on your own!"
I smile at her and we start to eat. We finish and start watching the TV. Lapis sprawled herself on my lap. I carefully grab her hand to check the scars from the cuts. I rub my thumb gently over them, I then notice Lapis flinch a tiny bit.
"Lapis, are your cuts healing okay?"
Lapis sits up properly.
"Yeah, they do kinda hurt though..well I guess that's my fault"
She giggles nervously.
"I wish I stayed at home with you though, I could've stopped that from happening I-"
"Hey hey hey.."
She uses her hands to guide my face to face her.
"It's okay, it was my fault, I say even if you were there I still might have done it... But look! I'm okay! And you're okay!"
I smile at her, she then drags me into a kiss which soon turned into a heated make out. I then felt her hands move under my shirt and up to my chest,
"L-lapis?"
She looks up at me. She then notices what I want and soon takes her hands away.
"Sorry, got kinda carried away!"
"No it's fine..."
(TIMESKIP to evening)
Lapis POV
Me and Peri decided to go to a sushi bar for her birthday meal. She has always wanted to go to one so that's what we did. We are our food and tried loads of different sushis, we also may have ate wasabi and burnt our mouths off but it was laugh. We then decided to get some ice-cream, we stopped of at Rainbow's ice-cream parlour.
"Lapis! I'll get the ice-cream since you bought dinner!"
"Peri! It's your birthday-"
"Nope I'm getting these for us!"
"Okay!"
I sat at the bench while she waited tin the queue for the ice-cream. A group of guys noticed me, I had an idea of what they're going to do, I try to not make eye contact but by the time I try to look away, they noticed me and walked up to me.
"Hey girl! What's up?"
I look at them.
"Uh nothing?"
They all smirked at each other, I start to feel uncomfortable.
"I-i have to l-leave now..."
I attempt to walk to Peridot but someone grabbed my wrist and yanked me back.
"What? Don't leave so soon"
I try to squirm out of their grip but they hold on tight to my wrist.
Peridot POV
I stand in queue for the ice-cream, I turned my head hoping to see Lapis, Lapis is there but a gang of boys are holding her and getting dangerously close to her, I run out of the queue.
"HEY!"
They hear me and turn around as I run up to them.
"Oh child, where's your mum?"
"I'm 21 TODAY!"
The boys laugh at me, one of the is still holding Lapis by her wrists.
"Then why are you so small!?"
I start to feel insecure but try to look tough.
"Just leave her go!"
I run up to Lapis only to be dragged back by another boy.
"Hey!"
We all look in the direction of the voice....JASPER!?
Me and Lapis look at each other in shock, Lapis looks mortified, we look back at her.
"Leave them go! Now!"
I stare in disbelief, Jasper's HELPING US!?
The boys drop us and run off. Jasper comes over to us.
"This! Doesn't mean we're friends! Got it!?"
Me and Lapis both nod and Jasper walks off into the darkness. I crawl quickly over to Lapis and hug after realising her PTSD kicked in.
"Lapis! Are you okay?"
I feel her nod into my shoulder.
"Thanks Peridot..."
I hear her shaky voice say. After she calmed down, I helped her up.
"Lets get you home!"
I smile at her and she weakly smiles back a Dan we start our walk home.
