Peridot POV
I waited up at the alter, my friends are giving me thumbs up. I smile nervously at them, I turn back around and then I heard the organs play. My heart was beating faster. I slowly turned my head and saw her. She walked down the isle. She fixed her makeup and hair from earlier, she looked stunning, her dress looked fabulous on her. Our eyes locked and we both blushed, she had never made me blush like this since before we dated. She arrived beside me.
IM SKIPPING THE VOWS!
"You may now kiss the bride"
The priest says, closing his book. Mae and Lapis look at each other. We both smile, I the grab her face and smashed our lips together, earning a cheer from the guests, I can feel Lapis smile into the kiss, we break apart. Lapis pinches her hands in the air.
"WOO!"
Lapis says, giggling, I smile at her goofiness and kiss her on the nose, earning another giggle. We head to the hotel for the after party. We ate, drank and danced the night away. We then ate the cake, which was fun to cut because we kept throwing some icing at each other.
Lapis POV
We sat to have cake, I was nervous, I had a speech I prepared for when we got to this point. I make a clink noise with my glass and stand up. Everyone turned to face me.
"H-hi everyone, thanks for joining us today. It, it means a lot to us and w-we are very grateful. I'd like to have a speech, this is for my new wife, wow, it's weird to say wife when I've been calling her my girlfriend for so long huh? Well let me get started heheh...okay sorry! I promise to be your best friend, to have your back no matter what, to let you fight your own battles but will tap in when you need help"
I look down at Peridot.
I promise to share the covers, maybe"
I hear a few giggles and chuckles.
"And make sure I leave hot water for you....also a maybe...to love your family as if they were my own, but they already do so that's out of the way!"
I smile, feeling more confident.
"I promise to make sure that I'm not just hungry before I yell, to not make you go to Disney World for every vacation. I promise to try new experiences as long as it doesn't involve cheese!"
More giggles can be heard.
"I promise to hold your hand every chance I get, to defend you to others even if you're wrong, I promise to put your happiness before mine. Peridot, when I met you I never thought that this would happen. I never knew you'd have a big impact on my life. And when we danced at the ball, I knew you were the one...thanks Peridot.."
I blush and everyone claps, I slowly sit back down to be bombarded with kisses and a big hug.
"I love you Lapis!"
I hear her say, I smile.
"I love you too!"
