6) A Near Replay

Lapis POV
A few years after Aqua was born. We decided for the summer to go back to Beach City to meet up with our friends. Aqua had never met them so this will be fun to see who she likes and who she becomes friends with. We went on a 5 hour road trip to the town, obviously we had to listen to 'ARE WE THERE YET!?' From Aqua but we soon made it. It will soon be Aqua's birthday, she'll be turning 7 so we have to plan something for her. We walked down the boardwalk well, me and Peridot walked down, Aqua was skipping happily, humming some tune that I heard before but, couldn't think of the name. We had to meet them across the road in the big donut! But what happened, it happened in a flash. It was all a blur. I looked and saw Aqua starting to skip across the road and I saw a car come quickly. My sudden reaction was to run. I ran towards her, onto the road and pushed her across, I heaved myself across, it missed me but I did get a hit in the back by the car door mirror. We both fell to the ground but I quickly got up despite my sore back and crawled quickly over to Aqua.
"AQUA I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA LOSE YOU!!"
I cried, she sat up and hugged me.
"It's o-okay, I'm alive Mam! I-it's a-all"
I hear her sob, I think the pain of few cuts are getting to her, I hug her back.
"I just don't want to lose anyone else over a car accident!"
"LAPIS!! AQUA!!"
I looked up at Peridot running towards us, we then noticed a crowd forming around us.
"Aqua are you okay?"
I asked, still tearing up. She nods but her face was all tear stained and a few cuts were there.
"Okay, we can go to their house earlier right?"
I asked, picking up Aqua.
"Yeah?"
We went over to Steven's house by the beach. We walked up the steps and knocked on the door.
"Steven?"
No answer.
"Steven!?"
The door then opens and Steven was in his pyjamas, all tired out. He then was struck with energy seeing us.
"LAPIS!! Peridot!!! And?"
"Aqua"
"AQUA!"
I giggle at him.
"We need a first aid kit"
We walk in as he grabs the kit and we sit down. After fixing up Aqua, Steven got ready and we headed to the big donut together. We met up with everyone and said our hellos, and we talked. Starting there was the start of an amazing summer. Aqua's birthday was a blast, we made her a huge cake and she ate a big chunk of it. We went to the beach everyday. Had ice creams. I never felt so happy. The only time when I felt this happy, was when Peridot confessed to me at the school dance. You wouldn't believe that me and Peridot used to be two loners.
