16) I Don't Want To Hurt You

Lapis POV
After school, me and Peri decided to walk around the park, it was a fine spring evening so the cherry blossoms are after blooming. We walked underneath the pink trees as the little blossoms slowly fall onto our hair. One landed on Peridot's nose, she jumped back with fright and I started laughing. I slowly hovered my hand over it and push it off. Peridot blushed which made me giggle and I pecked met on her nose.
"You're too cute"
She blushed even more. She groaned.
"I'm not meant to be cute..."
I giggle.
"Well there must have been a malfunction in the factory!"
I wrap my arm around her and we kept walking.
"Lapis, I know this is a touchy subject but, you described your mom like she was the best, what was she like?"
I stiffen when she mentioned my mom.
"W-well, if you really want to know, I have to take you somewhere"
"Where-GAH!!"
I start running , dragging a screaming Peridot along with me. After a few minutes we arrive at an abandoned house.
"Lapis! You didn't have to-"
"This was my house..."
I cut her off, walking towards the building, it was covered in ivy and the glass was broken.
"Oh..."
I smile at the little swings that were there.
"I remember my mom used to push me on the swings when I was younger, my dad was making smoothies for us"
Peridot steps beside me and holds my hand.
"They were tropical, my favourite..."
I giggled, but tears started streaming down.
"We all drank them and then my Mam told me, I can't wait to see you grow into a beautiful, cheerful woman when you grow up.., I told her to never leave my side..."
I walked past the broken gate with Peridot close behind me, I gently placed my hand on the pole that held up the swings.
"She said that she'll be with me forever, that she nor my dad will ever leave my side...."
The tears become bigger.
"Well look what happened! They both leave me!"
I giggle.
"Lapis?"
"They just left like that! No one to look after me! Not even a cousin because neither my mom or dad had siblings!"
I fall to my knees.
"Uh..Lapis!"
"My grandparents were also dead! EVERYONE IS FRICKING DEAD IN MY LIFE!"
"Lapi-"
"Hey who are ye!?"
I turn my head to see some guy.
"I'd *hic* ask the same question!"
I stand up and face the person, wiping the tears away.
"I'm Lapis...Lapis Lazuli....NOW STAY AWAY FROM MY HOUSE!"
The man laughs.
"Your house? Young Lady this is my property and I'd advise for ye both to skidadel out of here"
I get enraged.
"Lapis?"
I look down at Peridot. I then walk up to the man.
"You don't know anything! This was my home! You can't just take this away from me!"
He backs up a bit. He then gets angry at my tone.
"Listen here! I bought this land when the owners left! And you can leave now!"
"NO! You don't know who lived here! I LIVED HERE! I HAVE A RIGHT TO THIS HOUSE! THIS IS THE LAST THING I HAVE THAT HAS SOME IMPORTANCE TO ME!!
"Why would it have importance to YoU!?"
I get to angered at him now.
"THIS IS THE LAST THING THAT MY PARENTS HAD BEFORE THEY BOTH DIED!! THEY LEFT ME WITH NO ONE TO CARE FOR ME AND NOW YOU THINK YOU CAN TAKE AWAY MY LAST BIT OF MEMORY!! I DONT THINK SO!"
Fat salty tears were falling down my face, I ran up to him but someone was holding me back, I turn around and see Peridot.
"Peri! What are you DOING!?"
"Lapis! This is your home but you CANT HURT PEOPLE TO KEEP IT!!"
I see tears falling down her face, this makes me weak, seeing my girlfriend cry. I look up at the man who was terrified. I calm down and Peridot let's go of me. I run off, Peridot calling my name but I don't listen I keep running. I then heard someone running behind me. I know who it is, I don't want to hurt her.
"PERIDOT STAY AWAY!"
I shout at her, tears still falling down my face.
"NO LAPIS IM NOT KEEPING AWAY!"
I turn to look at her, she gets closer but I still try to keep away. When I turned back, I tripped over a stone and fall face first into the ground, I quickly get up despite the pain of the scrapes on my knees but as I attempt to run, a tight grip surrounds me, I struggle to break free but every time I squirmed, the grip would get tighter. I look back and see Peridot, nestled into my back, tears falling down her cheeks. I slowly fall to my knees.
"Lapis! Why do I have to stay away?"
"B-because I.....I don't want to hurt you..."
I felt hands being placed on my cheeks and soon felt her lips on mine. Her lips are so soft, you just melt into it.
"Lapis, I love you okay, if you accidentally hurt me, I'll face it, I'll do anything for you, please just don't run away like I did...."
I nestle into the crook of her neck and sob, this turned into a bawl. But she hugged me all the time, never letting go, never telling me to be quiet or threatening me to shut up. She just helped me, she comfort me.
"Peridot?"
"Yes Lapis?"

"Don't leave me..."
