2 Loners (AU COMPLETED)

(1) A change in my Routine

Lapis POV
My alarm goes off but I wasn't asleep, I was awake all night, couldn't get any sleep like every other night on this useless planet. I push myself out of bed.
'Should I really go? Is it really worth it?' I ask myself the same questions everyday, I rub my worn eyes and get ready for the bad day ahead. I cover myself up with my hoodie, but the fabric rubbing off the cuts from last night sting, I have to go through with this, it isn't as bad as the pain I go through everyday since all that happened. I lock the door to my apartment and walk on my lonely way to school. I don't have any friends to see at school, I don't get bullied, I'm just.....alone...
I arrive at the school building and walk to my locker, I look at the picture of me and my summer buddy Steven, he's my only will to live right now so having a picture of him makes me smile. We only get to meet in the summer, hence the men beach summer fun buddy. I grab my books and sit down at the back of the class alone. The bell rings and the wave of students flood in and then the teacher arrives with a girl. She is very short, has glasses and now I conclude she's a nerd!
"Okay class, there's a new student with us today, she just arrived so make her feel welcome, so, tell us something about yourself"
The girl seems a bit nervous, but she starts to talk.
"Hello, my name is Peridot Diamond and I-"
I didn't here the rest, I kept thinking of her name, Peridot, it's kinda cute and her voice is scratchy, but cute.
'GAH WHAT AM I SAYING!'
"Are you okay?"
I jump and notice that Peridot sat beside me. I shake my head getting rid of the thoughts.
"Yeah.... I'm fine.."
She settles in her seat. I lean on my hand as the teacher rambles on about learning goals.
"So, what's your name?"
I look back at Peridot.
"Uh....Lapis...Lapis Lazuli.."
She puts out her hand, I hesitate but grab it and we shake.
"Are you sure your okay?"
'Jesus is she psychic!?'
"Umm, yeah, I just don't have friends so I'm not used to talkin to people.."
'Great job Lapis, the first thing you tell her is that your a loner! GREAT WAY TO START A CONVO!'
"Honestly I don't either...everyone bullies me saying I'm a big nerd, which I am but-"
The bell rings and everyone starts to leave.
"Emm, Lapis, do you want to hang at lunch?"
'Oh my gosh, no one ever asked to hang ever since highschool!'
"O-okay.."
I say, a small smile tugging at my lips.
"Okay! I'll see you then!"
She waves and walks off.
"....bye..."
I felt a small smack on my back and I turn to see my ex Jasper. I glare daggers at her.
"What do you want...?"
I ask her, clearly not in the mood.
"I'm just checkin' on my Lappy-"
"I'm not your Lappy!"
I storm off, I don't want to deal with her.

Peridot POV
I walk out of class, I then remember I was to meet up with Lapis and I start running to the cafeteria to find her. I notice a table with the bluenette I was looking for.
"Hey Lazuli!"
I walk over, she looks up and a small smile appears on her face, I sit down and take out my lunch.
"Hey, don't you have anything?"
I ask, she doesn't have anything in front of her.
"I don't need to eat.."
She says, I get confused.
"Well of course you do! Here!"
I grab a small fruit salad from my lunch bag and give it to her. She looks at it.
"What? When was the last time you had food?"
She went from looking at me, to the food, the smile fades, I get worried.
"Oh I'm sorry, is it personal I-i-"
"It's fine....its just.."
She grips her hoodie sleeve.
"Personal..."
"Okay.. Do you want the fruit?"
She shakes her head no and I slowly take the small fruit salad back.
"I'm sorry you have to hang out with an anti-social loner like me.."
I look up at her.
"What? Why wouldn't people want to hang out with you?"
I say to her.
"....stuff..."
I wonder what she meant, I shrug that thought off.
"Hey! Do you want to hang at my apartment after school?"
She looks up at me, her small smile comes back.
"Sure.."
