Chapter 4

I didn’t have the most relaxing of sleeps that night probably nerves and apprehension at what the day had to bring. I showered and walked into my closet trying to find a sexy kickass outfit, which screamed confidence and ‘badassery’ I settled for leather pants with knee high heel boots, a black cropped top that stopped two inches below my bust showing a fair amount of skin and topped it with my leather jacket, I looked hot even if I do say so myself, I took a moment to assess my appearance in the mirror, and I could see the changes of the years reflected there, before I wore my hair short, and I still had some meat to my bones, now my silvery blonde hair sat at the base of my back, in loose curls, and my body consisted of pure muscle, thanks to all the training, I had subtle curves and an over average bust size, I was definitely blessed in that department, my eyes were my favourite feature, they were violet they seemed more noticeable now that I was happy, and actually living life.

We were leaving Danny behind, as second in command, Mikey and Jenna was going to come with us to get settled in and then swap places with Danny once everything has been seen to, personally I think they were coming to get the lay of the land and make sure I was alright, which I was totally ok with. I walked out the pack house and over the SUV and tossed my duffel in the back, walking over to the passenger, I gave Jenna a quick kiss on the cheek and rolled my eyes at the boys who catcalled and whistled at me, eyeing my outfit, like it was my armour which in a way it was.

Pushing off the car and giving it a slight wave, I walked over to my baby, I loved my Porsche with a fierce passion because it was something that belonged to my mum, I gave the keys to Danny because he would bring it down when he came to the pack, with a stroke of my hand I said goodbye to my baby and hello to my lover, the love I held for my motorbike was borderline obsessive, he was just beautiful I stroked up and down the exterior, appreciating his beauty and the subtlety of his weight, I fixed him up myself which only enhanced the connection I felt with him. There was a clearing of voices behind me and I turned to see the amused smiles of the guys “so if you’re done molesting your bike, we kind of need to get a move on” Sonny said I rolled my eyes at him and climbed on, shrugging my helmet on I revved my biked and peeled out of the driveway, and just for fun done a wheelie, knowing it was one move the guys were to chicken to actually execute. “Show off” I heard from Charlie via the mind link, I smiled whilst I heard Jenna laughing.

All too soon we pulled up at the familiar pack house I used to call home, members of the pack were standing at the entrance waiting to welcome us, I saw Dean standing there and surprise, surprise, who should be standing there hanging on to his arm like it was her lifeline but the pack whore Ashley, well I thought to myself they deserve each other.

I got off my bike at the same time the SUV came to a stop and the others were getting out, I took off my helmet and shook out my hair, I turned and took Sky’s hand, knowing that I would need the support, “they were all whispering words of support to me as we walked up the pathway. We came to a stop in front of them, and I zoned out whilst introductions were made catching more than a few curious glances and some of recognition, my brother was standing a little off to the side and seemed like he hadn’t caught my scent yet, a first glance it looked like nothing had changed but a closer look showed that he had lost some weight and he hadn’t been sleeping properly, I wonder what had happened to him, I might hate all that he stood for, but you can’t pick your family and my parents would be disappointed in me if I didn’t make the effort to help him, I made a note to find him later on and see if he was ok.

“And who is this?” I heard Dean ask Mikey, he was obviously indicating me because I felt Sky stiffen beside me before he could answer though I piped in “Aww I shouldn’t be so surprised that you wouldn’t recognise me, after all it only took you what, a week to mark someone else as your mate, quite a looker too” I winked at him seeing the understanding dawning on his face, whilst members of the pack surrounding him started murmuring “Kadie, is that you?” he choked out I mock bowed before him “ the one and only” I drawled out.

I heard the guys chuckling, while he seemed to have gone pale and ashen faced, “ as fun as this whole staring in awe and confusion thing is, do you think you could show us to our rooms it was a long drive and some of us would like to freshen up” I said as I shrugged off my leather jacket inwardly smirking at the loud gulp I heard him make as he eyed me up and down knowing full well I looked hot, I pushed past him and walked into the house with the others “Atta girl Kades, you got them hanging on to your every word”, that coming from Charlie “ damn is it too late to un-mate Mikey because I would totally jump ship for you right now Kades” came from Jenna, causing me and the guys to burst out laughing shocking the rest of the pack.

We were all placed on the same floor and I was pleased to see that Sky’s room was right next to mine it was comforting knowing he was near, I knew that before I time was done here I would need him to provide solace. Changing into a pair of figure hugging jeans and a white cami top with a see through floral blouse on top, I made my way to the living room meeting up with Jenna on the way “ so girly” she linked me “how you holding up?” I smiled over at her “to be honest with you I wasn’t thrilled to have to come, the memories you know, it took me long to get to where I am right now and I was worried that I would crumble, as soon as I set sight upon this place” I sighed “but, surprisingly I’m doing ok and I think that’s down to you guys, home is definitely where the heart is, and my heart belongs to all of you” I saw tears spring in her eyes and she yanked me into a bone shattering hug “ Aaahhh Jen, babe I can’t breathe, a simply I love you would have done it” I wheezed as she let me go, she smiled at me and pulled me along
