Chapter 30

Hey guy's here's the next chapter, it's coming to an end soon :-( I'm feeling slightly sad. I hope you all like it.

Enjoy.

Nai. X

The sleep that I had gotten with Sky seemed to have revitalised both me and Nia, after showering and changing, I figured now was as good a time as any to get some answers and see what was going to happen with the rogues that had survived the battle, making my way down to Sky’s office, I heard voices inside before I  entered, all the Alphas were present with Grey and the Elders, they all looked up at me and smiled, before some froze recognizing my scent and what it meant, they erupted into ‘congratulations’ and well wishes for our pack, the Elder’s and Grey seemed especially happy, particularly when they noticed I was marked as a Peacekeeper.

I went over and sat beside Sky, getting as close as I could, I felt how agitated he was through the bond having me in the room with so many Alphas whilst bearing his pup was putting him on edge, I let my leg rest against his and pulled his hand into mine, he seemed to relax against me, my touch calming his resistance. “So what were you all discussing?” I asked them, looking around the room and only just noticing the slight tension that seemed to fill the air.

“the rogues aren’t too happy with being locked up, and we are trying to find a more permanent solution rather than having them imprisoned for the rest of their lives, we have them station in the bunker with guards situated outside” Grey said, I nodded my head in understanding, this was exactly what they didn’t want and the reason they had started the battle in the first place, it was the fear of being locked up. We had to come up with something, and do it fast. Hearing what the Alphas had to say I understood where the tension was coming from, they were worried that the rogues had been rogue too long and their natures would devolve leaving them feral and a risk, they didn’t know if they could be trusted but they also though it was inhumane to have them locked up, although I could see from the way they held themselves they were only half reluctant in that aspect.

I thought for a moment before coming to a conclusion as I spoke a calming sensation seemed to filter out of me and spread throughout the room, “ here is what we are going to do, a gathering is going to be held, with all the packs being present, the rogues will be in attendance, and a discussion held, while at the gathering we will see if any of the pack’s members are mated to the rogue’s, it has been said that the mating bond could help provide a filter for the lone wolf gene and help with integrating the wolf back into the pack. For those that do not find their mates we shall have to come up with an alternative, of the 7 packs here the rogues will be split up and join those packs if you agreeable with their choice, those that insist on being rogue, will be given the option where they  are required to move close to one of the packs, allowing them their freedom, but is mandatory for them to attend pack meetings, and social gatherings, in addition to being include within the pack link, all of which will help tamper down their feral side, through the pack bonding, if they choose this decision they will have to be outfitted with a tracking device, and as barbaric as that might seem to them it is the price that they will pay for their freedom. We are not stupid and safe measures have to put into place.”

I took a deep breath and looked around, “how does that sound?” they all seemed kind of stumped and surprised, “ermm…guys what’s with the silence?”, Sky rubbed my knee while drawing circles on my hand with his thumb, “babe, you had no idea that you were using your peacekeeper abilities, offering an alternative that would suit everyone, whilst keeping everyone calm while you spoke and finished saying what you had to. It was amazing, you managed to tell us all what to do, whilst calming us, ensuring that we weren’t challenged and it didn’t incite our wolves” he sounded really pleased, I was too, the others seemed to be happy with the plan’s I had in place, and when I questioned Grey, he said he would speak to the council, it seemed like the best option, resolving an age old problem that didn’t have a happy ending no matter what way it was looked at.
