Chapter 21

Hey guys, so I started my new job today, its only for a month, I'm mainly doing it for the experience, I was dead tired when I got home, just after 6, The workplace seems nice but the work is long and boring and the whole time I was sitting there I was wishing I could be in my room writing, or reading, I envy all of you who got to do it! I'm trying to steer clear of cliche's guys and I think I'm achieving it, I like giving depth to my characters showing that they grow as the story goes on, hopefully this chapter shows that for you all! So i just managed to get the chapter done and I hope you guy's enjoy it.

I woke to and found myself surrounded in my mates embrace, I felt my wolf purring in content, it’s moments like this that I have a moment to reflect on how lucky I really am, and also feel a tinge of regret, most newly mated couples have time to revel in each-others company, but we had been thrown in at the deep end having to paddle our way to the surface, with every new problem thrown at us. I turned slowly in his arms being careful not to wake him, he hadn’t gotten a lot of sleep, and then I pecked him softly on his lips, extracting myself from his body and getting ready for the day.

Mikey’s pack were set to arrive around 10, which didn’t give us a lot of time getting food prepared and our pack settled, this was going to be an adjustment for everyone. I managed to gather everyone who was free, to help out making breakfast in the kitchen, cooking for two packs was no easy feat, especially considering we’re all werewolves, and we have big appetites, we were just wrapping up in the kitchen having all pulled together, when I saw Sky making his way over to me, and hearing the approach of vehicles outside, as the Alpha and Luna of the pack it was our job to go and welcome everyone, which is where we are going now.

Although stressed about everything, and trying to get everyone settled I was happy because in the years that I had belonged to Mikey’s pack, I had experienced the love of family, I loved his pack, and I think subconsciously I was hoping they would have some sort of influence on my own one. Both packs seemed to be accepting of one another, and those who were high in rank were charged with keeping an eye out and making sure there was no trouble. I needed a moment with Sky, I hadn’t had the chance to ask him about his progress with the Alpha’s, shutting the office door, I went over and sat on the edge of his desk, he seemed lost in thought, scrunching his brown in concentration, I smothered a giggle he didn’t understand how cute he was when he did that, I saw him start at that, “I’m not cute baby, I’m rugged and manly” he winked at me while I scoffed, “yeah be rugged and manly all you want, but you and I both know, that underneath that touch exterior lies a teddy bear,” he had a look of disgust on his face, “he’s a wolf baby” he sounded slightly condescending, I just arched my brow at him, we were kind of getting off topic.

“What happened yesterday with the Alpha’s, did you manage to get through to them?” he sighed, and it didn’t sound too promising, “Alpha Clarke and Alpha Blake refused to attend the meeting, they said they were happy with the way things were, things didn’t fare much better with the other Alpha’s they agreed to come and listen, but they are sceptical, you’re going to have your work cut out for you trying to convince them.” I listened to what he was saying and my heart sunk, this kind of thing needed an opened mind, but it looked like the Alpha’s were already decided without having listened. I sighed in exhaustion, my brain felt overworked and strained, so much was going through my head, and I hadn’t had much time to process everything.

“I’m organising a bonfire tonight to get the packs mingling, it’s possible that some of them could find their mates, either way considering we are going to be living with one another for the next three months everyone has to be at comfortable and at ease, and for the young adults and older members of the pack, I was thinking we could go for a midnight run, I was going to run it by Mikey, what do you think?” he smiled at me, admiration running through his eyes, “ your perfect do you know that, you  have a gift, I understand why it is you that plays a part in the prophecy, your loving and caring and it seems like you were made to be Luna, always thinking of others.” I blushed and ducked my head, I still wasn’t used to compliments.
