The representative who met us the next day was pretty unexpected, think of every Dumbledore and Gandalf presentation and that’s what we found waiting for us on exiting the pack house. When we introduced ourselves we found it his name was Isaac, I personally thought he was adorable, I’ve always been a sucker for a long beard. Sky on the other hand I could feel is mockery through our bond, I elbowed his side and he cast me a ‘what the hell’ look I gave him one back only mine was a ‘you know damn right what you were doing’. We smiled at each other, still kind of in the honeymoon period of our relationship.

Isaac was driving us to the council building, where the archives were stored in a vault, we learnt that the archives couldn’t be removed from the vault, all information gathered had to be either memorised or written down. “So what exactly do you do for the council?” I asked Isaac trying to find out as much as I could, to be  honest I wasn’t sure what the proper etiquette was when approaching the council, they seemed to live apart from all wolves, their duty rested solely on the governing of the wolves as a body. “I’m considered a scholar by most, I keep an organise the archives in the vault” I smiled at that, he certainly had the look down pat, “how long have you been working for the council?” since the age of 18, my family have a long line of descendants from the original werewolf lines, just as an alpha and beta are born into their role, so are the members of the council.” I reflected on that and to be honest it made sense.

We pulled up to what can only be described as a mansion, it was magnificent looking, from the outside, looking at the outside of the building it was surrounded by the woods, and had Isaac not driven us here we would not have found it, it appeared out of nowhere, which is probably the point, as an important factor in the werewolf world, access to the council should not be so easy, it was necessary for them to remain out of target from people who wish to eliminate them as a threat. Exiting the vehicle we followed behind Isaac noticing all the guards posted around the perimeter, they were eyeing us warily, trying to figure out if we were a threat.

We had to go through security upon reaching the entrance of the house, and most people picture big burly men, giving us a pat down, something which would have set Sky off I might add, yeah since the mating he has become slightly possessive although I noticed his efforts to tamp it down for my sake, but instead it involved us removing our outwear (jackets) and being sniffed by another wolf, if we had any weapons on us, the scent would have been picked up. Satisfied that we weren’t carrying anything harmful we were led to a living room of sorts, we told to wait and someone would be along for us shortly. I looked over at Sky to form some sort of anchoring, to be honest this all seemed a bit out of sorts, after everything that we had been through, this was the last thing that someone would expect to happen to them, a visit from the Moon Goddess, a chance at a new mate, and now predictions of a rogue battle, all of it seemed so outlandish and currently a known reality.

We heard the door opening, and a woman who seemed to be in her early 50’s entered, she walked over to us a warm smile on her face and took the seat opposite to ours. “ Hi, my name is Iris, I’m a member of the council, and although we granted your request for viewing the archives, we are going to need to know what your interest is, and the reason for your being here” I looked over at Sky and he gave a brief nod of his head, I then launched into all that had happened and what I was looking for, she looked over at us both in complete silence as if trying to process what I was saying, without a word she rose from her seat and indicated that we should follow after her.
