Our week of bliss flew by so quickly, wrapped in a cocoon of love, and warmth, I was almost loathe to return knowing that our bubble of relief would pop the moment reality set in. Sky was amazing and as much as he was the dominant Alpha wolf at heart, he was nothing but loving and soft when he directed his energy at me. We spoke a lot during our time here amongst other things, I found that although he carried just as much Alpha blood as his brother because his brother was the first born he was chosen to take the Alpha position, even if the circumstances of his mate had not happened he would have chosen to leave because his wolf didn’t like his brothers authority. When I asked him if he missed his family he went silent for a moment, “ I do miss them Kades, I don’t even hold a grudge against my brother, there is no malice there, I just wish they could have loved me enough to try more, my parents let me go without a thought, no one spoke up for me when my ex-mate left me for my brother, my parents said nothing about it, and my brother didn’t care about what he was doing either, for so long I thought I hated them, but after everything I have gained I realised it was a stepping stone, and a cold spark of reality to my wolf, nothing is a given and happiness has to be fought for.” His words were echoing back at me and although he had come a long way, I know the pain will always have lasting remnants ingrained on those memories he locked away.

He then went on to explain that although he shouldn’t have the dominant Alpha gene like his brother somehow it was instilled him which is why he resisted Alpha authority, the only reason he respected Mikey was because he took him in without hesitation, “it takes a great man, to bring another Alpha wolf into the pack Kades, he gave me a chance without a second thought, it could have been bad he had no idea what I was like, and whether I would try and poach his territory, I respect him and my wolf respects him, which is why we would never step out of line, I consider him a true friend” I smiled at that thought, Mikey was a true friend to most and a great Alpha, something Dean should aspire to be, I put a halt to those thoughts knowing that tomorrow we were heading back and today was our last day together before all hell broke loose, so I wanted to relax and spend the last few hours I had wrapped in my mates arms surrounded by him, and the sensations he brought enfolding us in euphoric bliss.

The drive back was a sombre one, I actually shed a tear when we left the cabin, I could picture what a life alone would be like with Sky, no problems or troubles surrounding us, but until we sorted out the rogue problem, that dream would stay out of reach. He held my hand rubbing circles, relaxing me and easing my tension, the surrounding scenery started to take on a familiar look and I knew we were approaching the pack house. The first thing I notice after pulling up and reaching the pack house is our pack and Ellie waiting to welcome us home, I knew that we were in for a butt load of dirty jokes from the twins, something I didn’t relish in the slightest, glancing over at Ellie I squealed in excitement jumping up and down and tackling her in a hug, she blushed slightly knowing the reason behind my actions, the guys were all looking at me like I was weird and Danny even tried to draw his mate away from me like I was a crazy person.

I rolled my eyes at him and ignored everyone “ the douche actually pulled his thumb out and marked you, I’m so happy for you guys, more sorry for you than anything Ellie that your stuck with this” I waved my hand over him “for life, God knows you’re going to need all the patience in the world, and don’t even get me started on his weird habits, we’re going to have to have a little chat, I’ll let you know just how to handle him if he gets out of hand” I sent a wink to Danny internally giggling at the white sheen that had spread across his face, the surrounding guys noticed it also and burst out laughing, after embracing everyone and making casual small talk, me and Sky decided to go up to our room and freshen up before meeting up with everyone and getting a detailed update.
