There couldn’t be any better feeling in the world than waking up in your mates arms, for the second time I felt strong arms holding me firm against their body, and I couldn’t stop myself from smiling, I was nervous about the fact that in about 6 days I would be going into my first cycle of heat, which would be both uncomfortable for me and my mate, contrary to what, fictional stories on mates say, a werewolf’s heat cycle does not affect all male species of their kind but just the mated’s intended, Sky will be the only one experiencing discomfort. When I wolf goes into their heat cycle it is the bodies way of telling the male wolf that it is ready and willing to produce offspring, something that is ingrained into the very DNA of every wolf if the need to procreate.

Some she-wolves in the past have tried holding back on their mating once they have been marked the pain is excruciating for both, and the results are not always pretty, I had no intention of denying Sky the bond between us was just too strong, the fact that we are not second chance mates as most suspect, but true mates is what makes the  bond all the more stronger, the Moon Goddess erased the bond between me and Dean and made it so that it never existed, replacing that bond with Sky’s hence the true mate nature of our bond and the ability to have children, mates can only have children with their true mates, although second chance mates exist their ability to have children are very rare, because the bond that exists is not as strong as a true mate bond.

The fact that I could have children with Sky was an amazing thought, I thought I had come to terms with not being able to become a mother, but it is only when I discovered the mating between myself and Sky, that I realised how important that fact was to me, the overwhelming sense of relief that I experienced nearly floored me, as well as the sheer joy that any child I had would have Sky as a father and not Dean.

Anyways as I mentioned before I have no intention of denying the mating between Sky and I, however before we do the deed I think we should date first, up to this point our interaction has been on a platonic basis, we now had to explore our relationship in a more romantic setting, and have some sort of buffer beforehand so as not to cheapen the experience.

I felt him shift him slightly behind me, and tighten his grip around my waist, before letting go and sitting up I looked over at him and smiled, “what’s on the agenda for today?” I asked him, although the idea of spending time together was one I relished I knew there was a lot to get done, we would be lucky if we managed to grab a few hours on our own. “ well Danny was supposed to be making his way down in about a week, but with all the recent events, I think Mikey is going to push for him to come down within the next couple of days and leave Steve in charge” Steve was high up in the pack hierarchy, and he wasn’t overly ambitious so Mikey had nothing to worry about, in regards to challenges, I nodded my head in agreement “so I think we are just going to continue getting the pack ready, and keeping an eye and an ear out for any information on the rogues”

I wondered how I was going to bring up the whole mating thing, an decided to just plunge straight in “Erm, babe” he looked at me his lips twitching at the corners “ I was thinking that if we could manage to grab some time to ourselves at some point that maybe we should, go out and spend some time together, with my heat coming soon I figured it would be nice to at least create the illusion of you working for it” I winked at him “ before I actually let you tap this ass” the look on his face was priceless, he double blinked and looked floundered while he spluttered out “s.ss..sure whatever you say, it totally skipped my mind that you would be going into heat soon, this mate stuff is going to take a while to get used to” his eyes softened as he looked over at me, he drew me close and pecked me on the lips, before getting off the bed and making for his room, he was going to move all his things over later, since we discovered we were mates we liked the idea of sleeping beside one another, and my room was nicer so he was moving in with me.
