As I predicted, both packs were thrilled about the news, there was even some whisperings about when, Sky and I would have our own little one. Although I felt a slight yearning for a little Sky, Nia and I both knew that we had the battle to face first, I couldn’t in good conscience get pregnant knowing that I may place my little ones life in danger, and there was no way I was sitting out of the battle. This was my legacy, and I needed to see it through to the end.
The arrival of Ellis’s pack led to a buzz of energy throughout the pack, wolves were social creatures by nature, and being surrounded by our kind, left a complete feeling within, the fact that there was so many wolves in one place would be challenging to say the least, with there being a lot of dominant wolves. I knew we would be alright, the end picture was something to look forward to, and strive for. The bonfire was going to be this evening, and everything had already been prepared, so all we had to do was get Ellis’s pack settled in, something which was no easy feat, considering the vast amount of us living here, there was close to 700 wolves staying with us in the pack house and the surrounding houses.
That evening went off without a hitch, and the wolves seemed to integrate really well, encountering Ellis’s pack was daunting, having not heard that much about them. They didn’t have much reputation for being violent or brutal, but we are all taught to never underestimate those you can’t measure, so going into this we were partially blind. I seemed to be worried over nothing, his pack were lovely, and you could literally feel the bond coursing through the members, Ellis had done a really good job taking over the pack, and his cocky exterior, was an example of ‘never judging a book by its cover’.
Socialising with all the pack’s made me feel light-hearted and carefree, I approached Jenna and Ellie who were sitting by the bonfire, beside them sat Brooke, Ellis’s cousin, he explained since the death of his mother and sister he had looked upon her like his little sister, and made sure she could defend herself. When he took Alpha training, he trained her alongside him, she was now the head enforcer for his pack, and looking at her you wouldn’t be able to tell, she was dainty, she had shoulder length auburn hair, and beautiful grey eyes, that held wisdom and knowledge in their depths, she had a slim curvy figure and held herself with a quiet confidence, I was happy to have another girl around, who was a warrior at heart, more often than not tiny girls like us were underestimated, I’m pretty sure like me she has had several instances where she has had to defend her title from cocky over-sure guys.
I had spoken to her when she had first arrived, and I knew she would fit right in with our little group, I looked around for the rest of the guys, “hey where’s the guys and Amie-Lynne?” I asked as I sidled up beside them, taking a seat beside Brooke, “they went to the store to get some more drinks, some of the pack teenagers thought it would be funny, to spike the drinks with alcohol, which wouldn’t be a problem for us normally but with so many wolves it’s better to avoid all that potential trouble” Jenna said while absentmindedly rubbing her stomach, I smiled at her happiness welling inside of me, “so Brooke how you settling in? you finding everything alright, how many guys have come up to you in disbelief over your status” I ribbed, poking her in the side with my elbow playfully, she smirked at me, and motioned with her head to the side, glancing up I saw two guys from my pack, looking a little worse for wear, one had a black eye, while the other was nursing his nether regions with an ice pack, I laughed at that, and high fived her, “that will teach them huh?”
