I had turned to see who was my partner and the first boy I laid eyes on made me shiver in disgust. He was obviously a jock. Tall with bleach blond hair and blue eyes he was obviously ripped and the letterman's jacket kind of tipped me off. The other boy was obviously not comfortable with him either.

He had pushed his chair to the opposite end of the table and leaned so far away from him that I thought he was going to fall over. He had dark raven wing colored hair and skin that was as smooth and colorless as milk. His eyes were like storm clouds...he was beautiful...and dangerous...he was obviously someone I needed to stay clear of.

Taking my seat between the two. It was obvious that this class would also be hell. I couldn't stand the smell of the jock beside me so I couldn't breath and I couldn't keep my eyes from wandering back over to him. Utter hell....

After what must have been an eternity the bell rings, releasing me from the awkward silence. I all but ran out the door....right into Chloe.

"There you are! You had me so worried! Did you find your class alright? I heard you got a tardy." I hated the fake concern in her voice. It made my inside turn till it was a hard ball in my stomach that made me want to slap the makeup off her face. Instead, I forced a smile to my lips.

"Yeah I found it okay, I got turned around once or twice but I know where it is now. I won't get lost again." With that I turned on my heels and made my escape before she could snap out of her trance. As I walked I looked down at my schedule and groaned. Gym. The only thing in this school that wasn't human that could expose me for what I really was. It was the only class that made you work your body to the fullest....if you weren't sweating you weren't pushing hard enough.

I found the gymnasium easy enough. ..but I kept walking. I walked to the side of the Gym then paused. I could hear skin connecting with skin and the distinct voices of men. I made my way towards the back of the gym. Turning the corner I count four guys. Two of which were my chem partners.

"Think twice before flirting with my girl punk!" It was the stupid blond jock talking. The boy with the grey eyes was slumped over while the other two were holding him by the arms.
"Hey, stop that!" I walk towards them. They all looked in my direction then laughed.
"Oh, hey it's the new meat. Get into class, this is official football business." He says waving as if to excuse me. That seriously pissed me off.

I kept advancing as they continued to wail on him. On his pull back I grabbed his arm and pushed it between his shoulder blades." I. Said. Stop."

I pushed him into the wall letting him go. The other two saw their leader go down; they dropped him and booked it. I walk over to the boy holding my breath.

He was laying on the ground bloody and bruised. I moved him out of the way and set him against the wall and splashed the water from the water fountain on his face till he opened his eyes. "Hey. You awake now?" I ask him quietly? He looked at me, his eyes squinting. "Y-y-yeah...." his voice was shaky and broken.Using my sleeve I wiped the blood off his mouth. "What happened to you? What made them beat on you so much?" I asked him, trying to be gentle as I cleaned off his face. He looked horrible...

"His girlfriend dropped her pen in the hall and I picked it up and returned it to her. She laughed at how clumsy she was, and Jack thought I was flirting with her...so he beat me up...it's fine. It's like a weekly thing." He says this while slowly getting to his feet. I grabbed a hold of his arm and helped him to his feet. "You should go to the nurse....he could have done some internal damage" I said what a normal human would say but really...it would just make me feel better to know he was okay "I...I don't think it's a good idea." He tried to pull away, but stumbled till I caught him. "Please....let me walk you to the nurse." He looked at me for a few minutes then nodded.

I guided him to the nurses then sat in the room to hear what she had to say. I just hoped he didn't think badly of me.
