Chapter 24: War Plans

Ivy had pulled off the road and onto a old rv trail and hid her bike in the bushes deciding to continue on foot from here on out. The sun was just beginning to set on the western horizon. The way Ivy was going. Farther into wolf territory. Now was the time for all those years of stealth and information processing training. Something my mom made sure I learned for if I ever needed something hard to get. I have never had to use it till now and right now I could just kiss mom for her constant worry. Climbing up a big tree just off the path I could get a good idea of the lay of the land. swinging from branch to branch I finally made it to the top of the tree and made a scan of the tree tops noticing any dips or changes in tree height. there seemed to be a couple clearings all the way around and some gullies if the trees that loos sunk are what I think. I guess I should try snooping around the gully first. Seems like a good place to hide. I just need to find his scent but that's proving harder than I thought it would be. climbing back down I start making way down towards the gully.

Gabriel had just about had it with these people. Yeah it wasn't just Raven. No it was Raven and her 4 older brothers. Just perfect. From what he had gathered Raven had four brothers Rocky Rollin Ravie and Rave. A lot of Rav- in this family wonder what that's about?

Raven had been gone some time now. Leaving Gabriel with her very anti-social brother Rave. Having nothing better to do and knowing some what his importance here he decided to bait Rave. See what he can get out of him.

"So, Rave....Your sister seems pretty.....Unstable. Whats that about huh?" Gabriel said doing his best to sit up straighter and turn to look at him. It was strikingly shocking just how much Rave and Raven looked alike. Rave had glared at him out the corner of his eye and snarled before turning his head away from him. Okay so that approach didn't work how about this one.

"Hey, whats in it for you? Why are you helping her kidnap someone and hold them against their will? Doesn't this bother you? Don't you think this could be your downfall in this world. What happens if things don't go your way?" My eyes are trained on the man standing across from me willing him to speak. Another growl from him and this time he plugged headphones in to drown out my questions. I slumped back against the roots and sighed. There was no way I was going to get anywhere with this guy. I really hoped Ivy was getting somewhere where ever she may be.

After running up and down the length of the gully and finding nothing that would indicate so much as a single living thing there I sagged against the nearest tree out of breath and feeling like all hope is lost. I couldn't give up yet tho. I needed to find him. I also need to wipe the floor with Raven just for putting me through all this work and putting Gabriel in such a dangerous situation. If I wanted to succeed in finding Gabriel I am going to need more than just my nose to find one scent in this whole forest. I pull my phone out of my pocket and text my mom. I ask her to bring Fein with her and to prepare for a fight I am done playing now. If its war Raven wants then its a war Raven is going to get, only the odds are in my favor.
