Chapter 30: Restraint

 Having Finally arrived back at the house, Gabriel, Helped Ivy into the house and up the stairs to her room. Letting Ivy rest on her bed ,Gabriel, made his way to her bathroom starting the faucet to her bath tub and stopping the plug to let the tub fill up. Having started it he made his way back to Ivy's room where Haven was with a steaming mug held out to Ivy. 
"This will help you heal a little faster so drink while it's hot." Haven was saying to her. 

Ivy took it in her hands and held it with both hands to warm them up. "Thanks Mom." She mumbled as she brought the cup to her lips and took a giant sip of the liquid with in. 
"Ivy the Bath is started. I'm gonna go down stairs to give you some priv-" 

"NO! Dont go." She was all but panicking. The confusion on Gabriels' face was apparent. "Just stay in here. I dont want to let you out of my site, who knows when Raven is gonna come looking for you again. Its better if you stay where i can protect you.....and cause I'm scared your gonna disappear again." There it was, the real reason behind her sudden outburst.  

Understandace suddenly shot through Gabriel and he made his way to the window seat in her room. placing him self down on the seat and making sure the curtains where pulled shut behind him. "Alright I will sit right here where you can hear me. You can talk to me if you want or you can just have me check in with you every few minutes. I'm not going ANYWHERE." He says crossing his arms. 

Haven who was standing quietly beside Ivy clapped her hands. "With that settled let me help you into the bath, dear." She says helping ivy to stand and then into the bathroom where they could have some privacy. 

Gabriel sat looking at the small amount of surroundings he had with in a small circle. Sitting on the cushion beside him was a book that looked like it had been read many a time. picking it up and holding it closer to his face he could make out the cover , Spell Bound, having peaked his interest Gabriel opens the book to a random page and starts skimming to pages. 

Ivys' voice suddenly called from the bathroom. "Gabriel? you still out there?" Her voiced sounded a little wavy but Gabriel decided not to comment on it. 

"Ye, Ivy, I'm still here. " he said with a grin. "I'm just reading one of your books while I'm waiting."  he says while flipping the page. 

"Okay." came from the bathroom. "What book are you reading?" She asks. 

"Spell Bound, It seems pretty interesting. Say are there really different types of Vampires? Or is this just more superficial crap?" He asks?

"No, at least not like in the book. All Vampires have their own way of doing things,  But all of us are just a bit more than human at the end of the day. " She answers sounding like she really wasn't thinking about the conversation. 

"What is it that you really wanna talk about, Ivy?" Gabriel asks. 

There was a few seconds pause before she answered. "Later, I will answer that questions a bit later. I think im gonna get out, so stay right where you are no moving okay?"  she says. He chuckled and shook his head before calling back an "okay" and turning his head back to the book in his hands. 

A few moments later Ivy came back out of the bathroom in a new set of clothes. A Peirce the Veil tank top and a pair of black and white shorts. 
Her hair was pulled up into a bun on her head and she was walking slowly but steadily by her self. 

"Feeling better?" Gabriel asks quickly averting his eyes from her. Trying his best to keep his eyes on the book in his hands instead of where he wanted his glaze to look. 

"Yeah, still hurts like hell, but I think I will live. " She says making her way over to the window seat beside Gabriel. Having sat down she crossed her legs in front of her and sat facing him. "Are you gonna be alright?" She asks resting her hand on Gabriels' bare, cut and bruised wrists. Her touch was gentle but the sting was most definatily still there.

 He winced in pain but didn't pull his hand back. "Yeah, still hurts like hell, but i think i will live." He mimicked her. They both chuckled and relaxed.  It was easier now that they weren't in eminante danger. After a few more moments of laughter it died down and then there was a brief silence. 
"Will you stay here, for the night? I don't wanna take any risks." Ivys voice was little more than a whisper. 

Gabriel smiled at her. "I really wasn't planning on leaving really, not after how you acted when you thought i was going down stairs of all places. So yes, as we agreed I'm not to leave you site. " He says placing his hand ontop of hers. Squeezing her fingers he got up and sat the book back where he found it and turned to stretch. "So about my question.What is really bothering you?" He asks offering me his hand to help me up. 

"Well The lunar Eclipse for one, how we are gonna explain the last few days to your dad,  weather its safe to proceed with our plans. and when the Regem will pop up out of the woodworks and start causing us all problems." She says standing and making her way to her bed my hand still firmly grasped in her own. I fallowed with out any resistance as she climbed into the bed and made room for me to sit down. 

"Well the lunar Eclipse is still what? A month and a week away? We have time. Im not sure what we are gonna say to my dad just yet, but we can figure that out in the morning or through out the night if you prefer. Next, I dont care, as long as i am with you the day of the Lunar Eclipse, everything else can be waited on. The Regem, well there gonna have to listen to what you have to say first right? Tell them the truth, were mates and have already made plans to make it permanent. What more could they want?" I say kicking my shoes off of my feet and swinging them up and streatched out in front of me. 

"Good point, but this Raven thing is going to bother me till its resolved. You do know that this is only the begining  of a bloody war right? She thinks your her mate, she is going to fight to no end  to get what she thinks is rightfuly hers, and i dont know how many of them there are. We could be looking at hundereds of werewolves here all fighting for Raven sake. We are significantly out numbered to say the least." The worry lines that left deep craters in her skin becoming more apparent than before. 
Gabriel lifted his hands up and smoothed the skin on Ivys face with his thumbs. "Worrying like that will make you age faster you know." He says smiling at her and pinching her cheek just a little. 
This made Ivy laugh and swat his hand away from her face. "Alright, no more worrying, lets just get a full nights sleep, we have a lot of lost time to fabricate in the morning before we leave the house at all.  Got to have all our storys straight. " She says turning the lamp off behind her and climbing under the blankets. "You're welcome to share the bed with me tonight. Make sure you dont up and vanish in the middle of the night.." She says offering part of her comforter to Gabriel. 

He takes it and slowly climbs under the blankets with her. laying back on to the pillow he relaxed slightly and stayed very still. unsure of what would be appropriate and non so to speak. He didn;t want to over step any unspoken boundries Ivy may have. 
After a few short moments Ivy reached over and wrapped her arms around Grabriels arm, pulling him slightly closer to her. "Good night." she breathed

Gabriel could feel his face getting hot. "G-good Night , Ivy." He managed to say. Closing his eyes the two of them drifted off to sleep.
