"So what you are telling me is that somehow you and I are soulmates, that because I am a human that knows about vampires that some vampire overlords are going to come and basically kill us all, that if we don't become...what was the word you used...mates? That you will never be able to fall in love with any one else for the rest of eternity and that if you don't change me into a vampire by the winter solstice then our lives are basically over? Is that what your telling me, Ivy?" I had taken Gabriel to the falls where we first jumped, it seemed like a quiet enough place.. I mean know one but we came up to the falls or even know we hung out here. There he was sitting on the edge of the cliff looking at me with a face that I couldn't necessarily read. It looked almost like he was mad, or maybe just super super confused. He had crossed his arms over his chest in the middle of my explanation and that is where he stayed. Closing himself off from me. I had tried to explain it as simply as possible. I nodded at him, my face giving nothing away.

He didn't seem covinced about my explaination. The way he was sitting. arms crossed over his chest, his left leg was crossed over his right one and swinging slightly over the cliff. The breeze was pushing strands of his soft black hair back into his face so no matter how much he moved it he was constantly in his face making it a little more comical that this conversation was.

"That is basically everything, Gabriel. There isn't much more to really tell you. I just....do you hear how crazy I am sounding right now? Do you understand why I couldn't possibly tell you before? I mean if I was in your shoes I wouldn't believe me right now either. In fact if I were in your shoes I would probably have started running in the opposite direction. " I added a small chuckle at the end to lighten what it was I had said. Really I was scared of what he was going to say.

"Well, it really doesn't sound like it could happen, but a couple days ago I didn't believe in Vampires or Werewolves either. He uncrossed his arms from his chest and moved closer to me wrapping his arm around my waist. "So tell me how does this mating thing work? There has got to be some process to it. Right?" He asked me to play with my hair after laying back on the grass under us to stare up at the sky.

That made me blush tremendously. "Well um....it's nothing spectacular really. Basically, during the Lunar Eclipse that is coming up soon, I have to bite you...change you into a vampire. If i tried to change you into a vampire right now you would die and never come back. It only works during the Lunar Eclipse." I say looking from my hands up to his face. It had gone into an emotionless mask yet again, I couldn't tell what was going through his mind. I couldn't help but feel the sensation of dread come over me as I awaited his response to my explanation. He sat up his hands covering his face and he started to shake like he was crying. "Gabriel, I am so sorry. I know this is a lot to take in. I know how much your life means to you and I never want you to pick me over something that you cherish most. Please, I am so-"

He had sat up his hands away from his smiling face that just started laughing louder. He took my hands in his and kissed each one.
"Ivy, until you came into my life and turned everything upside down and inside out, like a hurricane, I never really thought I had a purpose here. It felt like I was born with no future. I was here to complicate the lives of everyone in Serenity. I have never cherished anything more than all the time that I have spent with you. You are my purpose for being here. To be with you is what I was born for. Don't you see it? Ivy I was born your mate, I have always felt out of place, it's because my place isnt here in Serenity, it is beside you for the rest of eternity. " I could not believe what I was hearing him say. He didn't only just accept what I was saying...he was saying he would want nothing more than to be with me. I couldn't help the tears that sprung to my eyes as I felt this overwhelming joy spread over my entire body. I bolted from where I was sitting and knocked him to the ground kissing him. His forehead, his cheeks, the tip of his nose all leading down to give him just one long sweet kiss.
His hands found mine and he intertwined his fingers in mine. I could feel the electricity sparking through the connected skin and for the first time ever...I enjoyed the feeling of it. I no longer felt the dread and heart ache nor could I hear the doubting thoughts and nagging voices telling me it would never happen. I was in a realm of complete bliss.

His hands let go of mine and he ran his hands through my hair as i laid my head on his chest to relax. "So....you seem excited....how about we go see what your mother thinks about this decision?" He asks a baiting tone to his voice. He KNEW that she would be more than ecstatic to hear that we have agreed to be mates. I smiled into his shirt as I looked up at him from under my lashes.
"I don't know. We should definitely go tell her. Like right now...before I burst from excitement. " I say slowly standing up and pulling him to his feet. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me against him before kissing the top of my head.

"Or before I die of old age." He jokes before sweeping his arm under my knees and sweeps me off my feet. I gasp and hold onto his shoulders as he carries me to my bike. I laugh as he sets me down on my bike, side saddle style, and straps my helmet on me. I couldn't help but laugh at him. He looked genuinely happy. He finally strapped his helmet on and got on behind me. I swung the bike around and made a beeline for home.
