Chapter 27: Weakness and Strain

Ivy came to the smell of the underground and Gabriels blood mixed with someone else's. Raising my head I winced as a shooting pain went through my back just below my lungs. It hurt so bad it forced the air from my lungs. I turned my head through the pain and looked over my shoulder, I could just make out the red feathers that normally accompanied the rest of an arrow. Not knowing what else to do I started to freak out. Hyperventilating and pulling on my handcuffs.

"Ivy, stop! Calm down before you hurt yourself more.". An all too familiar male voice spoke from beside me on the other wall.

"Gabriel?" I ask him while turning my body around to the other side of the pole so I can look in his direction. Once I saw him perfectly unharmed save for his now scabbed over wrist, a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. "Are you okay? Did they do anything to harm you?" I ask worried.

"I'm fine,Ivy, but I know you're not. The guy said that the arrow was dipped in garlic juice. " Hearing him say that made my heart sink. As long as the arrow was lodged in my body I was nothing more than a mere human. Powerless and without my strength and healing I would continue to lose blood till I died.

My body started to tremble from the overbearing feeling of despair and fear. I leaned my head against the pole in front of me feeling the cool metal touch my skin. I let out a piercing and extremely loud cry. A cry of desperation, fear, anger, and most of all a cry of loss. Loss because I knew that if help didn't come soon Gabriel's life and happiness will be taken and I will no longer have a life. I slammed my hands against the floor on the other side of the pole as hard as I could and screamed again.

"Oh, Please save your breath. Guess Gabby didn't tell you this room was sound proof. " Raven says from the door her fingers pushed against her temple like she had a headache. Good.

"What are you playing at Raven? You had already lost. Gabriel made his decision. He doesn't love you. Let us go. "

Raven's mouth twisted into a very unpleasant grin."Oh, Ivy, I guess your reunion was short lived earlier. I don't care if he loves me or not right now. Cause on the peak of the eclipse, Gabriel will be transformed into a werewolf to be my mate for the rest of our lives. " She says, making her way over to Gabriel and running a hand through his hair and down his cheek.
Gabriel flinched away from her touch. "Don't touch him! Don't you see what you're doing? Your sealing your fate. A fate that leads to you losing him forever and any idea of him loving you is lost." Raven made her way over to me and behind me. I tried to scurry away from her, but in my current state I just couldn't move fast enough. She grabbed the shaft of the arrow and twisted it pushing it deeper into my body. I screamed another blood curdling scream, my back arching pressing me up against the pole in agony. After a couple of twists Raven stopped and let my body fall to the floor covered in blood sweat and tears. The sobs kept coming out of my mouth and my chest kept heaving as the pain went through me like tidal waves of cold fire.

I didnt't quite realize when or what was happening around me, it felt and looked like I was spirling down a dark tunnel, I just know not long after that I had lost consciousness.

Ivy had passed out again a while ago, leaving just Gabriel and Raven in the room alone with no outside interference to stop what was to proceed.

"Gabriel, now that you see that you have no chance of escaping this with her unscathed, how about just giving into it and come and be my mate. I have already proven that I am willing to go as far as I have too to win." Raven says settling herself onto a cushion next to Gabriel. nestling herself right up against him.

Leaning away from Raven, Gabriel coughed . "Um, how about never. I will never willingly be with you. Even if you turn me I will fight against you for the rest of my life. " He says moving as far as he was willing to test before straining his wrist on the cuff anymore.

Raven laughed a nasally laugh before raising back to her feet. "I guess we'll see about that. Besides I highly doubt that your little bloodsucker is gonna want you after I turn you. Do you really think you will have the strength to fight against me once she willingly leaves the picture?" She says grabbing her things and making her way back out to the tunnel. "I will see you in a bit Gabby. Don't go anywhere." She says laughing as she leaves.

After he was sure Gabriel smiled a genuine smile and uncurled the fingers of his free hand. nestled in between his middle and index finger Gabriel had picked the key from Raven when she leaned against him. Now to get out of here before she or one of her brothers came to check on them.
