"Ivy seemed to be really reserved after the falls...like she was afraid...like she was afraid of me. Before she was so happy...so open. Now it was like she didn't want to get close. She was absent...but there none the less....what did I say to her to make her back away so quickly.
She was so lively yesterday. So excited...and what with the way she told me I was her best friend....was I the only one who felt the tingles. I could have sworn she was the one I was supposed to be with.....yes I will admit it. I am in love with her...but I wont pine for someone who isn't interested in me...I'm okay with just being her friend..." Gabriel thought to himself as he turned the helmet she had given him around and around in his hands as he sat on his bed mulling what had just happened over.
"I know I have to tell her...maybe I just need to say it and she will too...the lunar eclipse...that is when I will admit it to her....at its highest peak I will tell her...tell her I love her....with everything I can. " With his mind made up, Gabriel put the helmet on the stand next to his bed and put his headphones in his ears. Laying back on his bed he drifted into nightmare filled sleep.
Running....it was pitch black but I couldn't get away. I was running...but from what? I turned to see who was behind me....all I saw was a girl with black hair, pale skin, and vivid green eyes. The girl had two sharp pointed k-9 teeth where her eye-teeth should be. Blood smeared up her arms but she didn't appear to be harmed. She was running after me....and catching up. Her face wasn't that of fury but of desperation. "Run Gabriel Run!"
Gabriel woke with a start. Sweat was pouring off of him. He got up and made his way to the bathroom. He stopped at the sink and splashed really cold water on his face. He looked horrible. His black hair was matted to his face and his eyes were bloodshot. Drying his face off, he went back to his room. His curtain was open and through it he could see the light in the house next door was on. Through it he saw black hair and knew it was Ivy's room. She was sitting on her bed reading a book and drinking from a black coffee mug. The window was just an arm's reach away. Leaning out over the edge of his window he knocked on her window.
Her head snapped up and her eyes looked blood red from here. He knocked again and she got up to see what was going on. Her walk was that of a cat; graceful and deadly. She picked up a wooden bat from the corner and pulled the curtain aside. When she saw it was Gabriel she put the bat down and unlocked her window pushing them open.
"What are you doing, Gabriel? It's 3 am." She is more concerned than mad.
"I couldn't sleep and I saw your light was on....I wanted to talk to you." He says leaning on his window seal. She smirked and sat down on the window seat and leaned against her own seal.
"Alright, you have my attention till you feel tired enough to go to bed." She says pulling her phone out and playing some soft music in the background of our conversation.
Gabriel didn't remember when he had gotten up and gone to bed...the window was still open, but Ivy's was not. Just the thought of her made his heart clench up. It hurt to know she didn't feel the same for him as He did for her. But if just being her friend was all he could manage...he would be by her side till she wished him away...and maybe...even after that.
