Chapter Four: Maybe?

After having left Gabriel's place. I went home and found myself another blood bag out of the fridge. "Where have you been, Ivy? Your bike has been here, but it's been a while before you came in. I was getting worried." She says from the doorway that led to the living room.
"Oh yeah. I...um...I made a friend I think. He lives next door. I found him getting beaten up, and I took him home....I went to check on him is all. "I say bringing the cup to my lips.
The smile on her face was so big it looked like her face was going to break. She walked over and gave me a really big really tight hug. "I am so glad my baby has a friend. When do I get to meet him?"
She lets me go and holds me at arm's length. "I don't know he was beat up pretty badly so I think He is going to stay inside for a few days. But mom you have to act normal I don't know how he will react to us being vampires yet. "I say draining my cup and washing it out.
"That's fine Ivy. I just hope that you're happy here. Making friends is a wonderful thing." She says this then walks out of the room.
I sigh and go upstairs to shower do my homework and go to bed.
The next morning I got up and got ready for school. I walked outside and next door. I knocked once and the door opened. Enough to show a very tired looking dad. Gabriel's dad looked like he just woke up.
"Yes?" His voice confirmed my suspicion.
"I'm sorry to be bothering you so early, sir, but I came to see if you had a copy of Gabriel's schedule. I was going to pick his homework up for him."
He scratched his chin. Then nodded.
"Come on in. I think I have one on the fridge. "He walked away leaving the door open for me to come in. After shutting the door I followed him through the house to the kitchen. He rummaged through the papers upon papers He had stuck to the fridge till he pulled one off.
"Here you go little lady." He handed it to me. "I want to thank you for looking out for my boy. He has a hard time getting along with people. I'm glad he has such a sweet person watching his back."
That made me smile. "It's my pleasure, Sir, Gabriel is a good kid...it's just the insecure rock heads that need someone to belittle. I think they target him because he is nice. They feel inferior to him so they take their anger out on him. I wish I could have stopped it sooner. I will be back after school with his homework. Thank you again." I left without another word and went to school.

After parking my bike I made my way to my locker to deposit my helmet and my coat. I grabbed what I needed for class and started for the door when I was stopped by Jack.
" Hey, new meat. Listen I'm going to forgive you for making me look like a clown the other day. I know You're my lab partner, but I want to be your friend too. Forget king loser and come hang with me and the crew." He gave me what I am guessing is a charming smile as he leaned against the locker door.
I laughed. "You want me to come hang with you? Hahaha don't make me laugh. I don't hang out with flaming moronic jock rocks that can't think without having to look it up online. You are just as I thought. Self-centered and cruel. "I pushed past him making sure to ram his shoulder with mine hard on the way by.
His crew must have heard or seen because I could hear a bunch of "oohs" and. "She got you". I made my way to Latin class and sat down only to space out to kill time.

Hours later the bell rings signaling the end school. I put Gabriel's homework in my bag and made my way out to my bike. I put my helmet on and drove home.

After pulling into my driveway I made my way next door. I didn't have time to knock before the door opened. Gabriel's dad looked better than this morning. "Hello, Ivy. Gabe's up in his room." he says leaving the door open for me. I walk in and go up to Gabriel's room. I knocked on the door.
"Come in!" He sounded so much better. I walked in and shut the door. Gabriel was sitting in a computer chair with a book in his hand. "Hey, Ivy, what's up?" he says, putting the book aside and getting up.
I rummaged through my bag and pulled out the papers. "I told your dad I would bring you your homework so you don't fall behind. Also I wanted another excuse to come check on you. You look better." I say handing him the papers.
"Thanks, Ivy, I think I might come back to school tomorrow seeing it's Friday." He says putting the papers on his stand.
"Oh really? Would you like to ride with me?" I ask him to try to make small talk.
"Yeah, sure. That sounds great." His smile was huge. I couldn't help but smile back.
"Well I will get out of your hair. I will come get you tomorrow morning. You know where I am if you need help. "I start for the door. He stands up.
"Ivy...thanks a lot...I appreciate everything you have done for me." I smile and leave the room and go out of the house.

The next morning I was more energetic about going to school. I grab my stuff and head out the front door. I had planned to go across the lawn to get him...he was leaning against the door. I jumped back frightened.
He laughed lightly and stood up. "Sorry to spook you, Ivy. Good morning. "He says, giving me a charming lopsided smile.
"Good morning, Gabriel, ready to go?" I ask him to hand him my only helmet. He takes it and puts it on his head. I walk out to my bike and start it up. I let him climb on and pull out.
Once again the shocks went down the entire length of my body. My nerves were singing...but I was still unsure of if He was my mate or not. Till I figured it out I wanted to be close to this little human...I wanted him safe.

I pulled into the parking lot and turned off the engine. "You know Ivy....you need another helmet....so you aren't without one when you have a passenger. It's dangerous." He says handing me the helmet back. I pushed it into his hands.
"Keep a hold of it. If you're riding home with me I think you should hang onto it." I smile and grab our things. "I will see you in Second hour. Stay out of trouble okay?" I say walking away. He runs after me till He is right beside me.
"Actually. I would like to walk you to class Ivy. If it's all the same to you I would rather hang with you. " He says walking beside me. I smile and nod.
"Go ahead. I would enjoy the company. "I say opening the door. He walks with me to my locker and makes small talk as I dropped my things off and made our way to my first hour. I couldn't help but hear the other student's whispers.
"How did a guy like him get her?"
"Why is she hanging with that piece of trash?"
"That new girl sure doesn't know how bad a decision she is making. Hanging out with that loser."
It pissed me off to hear them talk about him like that. I balled my fists up inside the sleeves of my sweater and finished walking to class.
After dropping me off at class and departing for his own I sat in my seat brooding.

School went by in a blur. When the bell rang at 2:15 I walked to my locker where Gabriel was waiting for me. I smiled and walked a bit faster.
"Hey. How was school?" He asked as I got to my locker.
I was putting my combination in when I answered. "Same as always. How about you? How did your day back treat you?" I ask pulling my jacket and bag out of my locker.
"Well I'm still standing and I didn't need to go to the nurse....it was a good day." he says shrugging his shoulders.
Gods his muscles were so pronounced when he did. He looked like a string bean but in all honesty....he was pure lean muscle.
"Good. Ready to go then?" I ask, shrugging my coat on and shutting my locker door.
"Yeah let's go. I'm glad this week is over with now. Come on." he turns and I follow him out to my bike.
After we had gotten home he walked with me while I put my bike away.
"So you know nothing about the town?" he asks skeptically.
"Nothing....I mean I know where the stores are but I don't know about where to have fun." I say pulling the tarp over my bike.
"Then let me take you to the falls tomorrow....it's Where I Go to relax and be myself. Will you go with me?"
The way he looked...and the pull of wanting to just be around him..."Yes. That sounds like fun."
His smile stretches from eat to war. "Good. Where your bathing suit tomorrow cause we are going swimming." he says, turning to leave. "I will be by around noonish!" he calls from his porch. I wave and go inside.
This was very dangerous...being alone with this human that had this much power over me....but...That power took over my worry. Drowned it out. Tomorrow I was going swimming with Gabriel whether it was a bad idea or not.
Mom wasn't home from work and I didn't want to stay in the house....

After I had thought long and hard about it I decided to go back into town to get Gabriel a present. He wanted me to get a second helmet for when I had passengers but the only person. I wanted to ride with Gabriel. So...I was going to get him a custom helmet. My helmet had ivy vines and roses going around it. I wanted to get Gabriel something.
Walking into the auto shop intent to the motorcycle helmet section. They were all plain black helmets. There however was a big red and white sign that said custom personalization in back. I grabbed a helmet and walked to the back counter. There was a big man back there with a long brown beard and tattooed sleeves sitting there.
"Hello, welcome to cycle heaven where you can find all your motorcycle needs. How may I help you?" his voice was low.
I push the helmet onto the counter. "I want this customized."
