Carrying 3 cups of coffee was hard and I kept burning my hands. I had to stop and set them down more than once to wipe my hands off and stop the sting. I had to go all the way to the other side of the hospital to find an on and working coffee machine. Then the long perils journey back to Ivy's room was horrible.
When I got back to Ivy's room the door was slightly ajar. I had shut the door. Maybe Haven had to leave for some reason. I took it as an advantage. I nudged the door open with my foot and walked in, and stopped dead in my tracks. There was a boy with almost the same description as Ivy, save the color of his eyes. Ivy was dressed and standing beside her mother. It seemed I had walked into a private conversation, because they all stopped talking about whatever it was they were talking about to turn and stare at me. Ivy was the first to recover with a big smile.
"Welcoming back, Gabriel." She almost dances over and takes two of the cups from me handing one to her mother.
"Thank you, Gabriel." Haven says taking a big sip. Ivy sets her cup down.
"Gabriel, this is a friend from my old school. He moved her a few days ago. His name is Fein Rosa. He will be joining our class on Monday." She says making a gesture to the boy standing across from me.
"Hello there, Gabriel, It's nice to meet you." He says nodding his head at me but making no motion to approach me anymore then he has.
He gave me an uneasy feeling. Like that cold chill that went down your spine whenever someone walked on your grave. There was something. Unnatural about Fein, but I couldn't figure it out.

"Hey, Ivy, how are you feeling?" I asked after I regained my seat by her bed and took a sip out of his coffee. Fein sat on the bed beside Ivy. A little too close to my liking.
"I feel much better, now that I have rested. I'm sorry I worried you Gabriel." She says while reaching for my hand, but she pulls back at the last second. She looked reserved. Almost emotionless, nothing. She didn't act like herself. It scared me. I looked at Haven and then I looked at Fein. He was turned slightly and looking down at Ivy, I didn't like the look. It was almost like he cared for her more than a friend. Could this be her 'boy-friend" she had to leave behind? Surely he wouldn't come all the way here and move in if it wasn't for her being his girlfriend. I get up and walk out of the room. I heard someone get up and follow me. I didn't turn around till the door was firmly shut behind us. When I turned around, it was Haven. She had her hands in her pockets and the look on her face was apologetic.
"Gabriel, she really likes you. I can't get her to shut up about you when we are at home. You are always on her mind. Please don't think anything of Fein. He is just a good friend. He came here to make sure Ivy was safe. I will admit she has her secrets, but she hasn't told you for good reasons. Don't think you're not important to her. I'm going to sign her out, do you need a ride home?"
I sat there a moment then nodded. "Alright then. I will be right back. Can you go get Ivy and let her know to get ready?" She asks walking away. I nod and go back inside.
"-A human! Really Ivy!" Fein was yelling at Ivy from one side of the bed he was hunched down and was baring his teeth."
"Yes! You don't like it, you don't have to be here!" She had hissed at him.
"Ivy? Are you alright?" I ask her resting my hand on her arm. When she turned to look at me her eyes were blood red. I jumped back so fast I knocked into a table. "What the hell are you?" I scream.
Fein laughs and lets his eyes dance a bloody fire red.

"I told you so. He was never going to accept it. Sorry to burst your bubble kid but the girl you're in love with drinks blood." He says laughing a devilish laugh. "What? Ivy please tell me that's not true." I plead with her. It had to be special effects, contacts or something else rational to explain this. "Gabriel, I will answer if you answer me first. Would it really matter to you if I wasn't human?"
