Gabriel had swiped the key to his cuffs from Raven when she had leaned up against him. It had been 10 minutes since she left the den. It was gonna have to be now or never.

Gabriel had unlocked the cuff from his wrist and was up in a flash. Running to Ivy's' side, Gabriel took in the full extent of Ivy's' injuries. The Arrow was embedded deeply within Ivy's' back, there was blood soaking into a pool on the floor, and Ivy looked paler than Gabriel had ever seen her before.

Making some quick and important decisions Gabriel unlocked the handcuffs from around Ivy's wrists and very carefully picked her up, bridal style, minding the arrow still protruding from her back. Gabriel didn't necessarily think it wise for him to pull the arrow out without proper training. If they got out of this alive, he was gonna take her straight to Haven. She would know exactly what she would need to fix Ivy up quickly, and hopefully without complication.

After adjusting his grip on Ivy, he made his way through the doorway into the tunnel that would lead them out of the Den.

Gabriel followed the winding tunnel all the way up and peaked his head out of the hole looking all around for signs of Raven or the brothers. It was clear, and telling by the position of the sun Gabriel could guess and be confident that it was still early morning, that means that most likely Raven is at school and her brothers are with the pack....hopefully.

Scrambling out of the hole and busting into a full on sprint, Gabriel took off going South East.

The underbrush was thick in some spots, but Gabriel knew if he kept running the way he was going he would eventually hit the road that was closest to home. Closer to Ivy's mom.

When next Ivy came too, she was nestled carefully on a bed of clovers laying on her side with her arms under her head. She could hear the sound of running water and birds singing. Remembering the last time she tried sitting up after waking up she thought better of it and settled for swiveling her head around to see where she was. What she saw shocked her.

Kneeling beside the brook was Gabriel drinking thirstily from the cool refreshing water. How did they get outside? Did Raven let them go? All these questions swirled in Ivy's head till it made her dizzy.

Closing her eyes and letting out a deep breath, Ivy slowly pushed herself into a sitting position, taking note of the sharp pain in her back she looked over her shoulder, sure enough there was the arrow still protruding from her back. Turning her head back around she saw Gabriel staring off across the river.

"Gabriel..where are we? How did we get out here?" She says startling him out of whatever thoughts he was having. He turned to face her and there was no mistaking the worry and pain behind his eyes.

"Ivy, oh god, how are you feeling? Can I get you something? " he says rushing up to here and squatting down to look her over.

"I'm feeling really weak, but I will be okay for a little longer. You never answered my question by the way." She says not letting herself get off track. He looked sorta bashful, rubbing the back of his neck and looking anywhere but at her.

"Well you see...we are somewhere in the woods, I'm not quite sure where yet, but I have somewhat of a clue of where we are going. And to answer the second question I um ...." He had mumbled the last part but Ivy wasn't letting him off the hook.

"What was that last part I didn't catch it?" She says leaning in to push him on.

"Well I sorta kinda....picked Ravens pocket for the cuff keys, and when she left I grabbed you and got the hell outta dodge at my first open opportunity."He says all while staring at the ground. He looked like he was embarrassed. Giving him no room to think, Ivy pulled him close and kissed him.

"You're my hero, Gabriel. You saved us. And that is what we will tell the Regem when they get here, but for now we have to get out of here before Raven catches onto your escape plan. I remember going through this river on my way to find you. If you keep going South East we will meet up on a trail and at the head of the trail near the road is my motorcycle and in the seat compartment I always keep a spare phone in case I lose or break my current one. We can call my mom to come help us. "

With the support of Gabriel, Ivy slowly got to her feet and staggered holding onto his shoulder.

"Ivy this is going to take too long if you try to walk like this." Gabriel says pick her back up bridal style.

"Ah, Gabriel! Put me down, I can walk on my o-OUCH!" Ivy had try to squirm and in the midst of it she had knocked the arrow into Gabriel's leg.

"See what I mean Ivy. Now suck it up and let me carry you." He says just before he starts back on his way out of the forest.
