"Y/N!" Thomas said getting up from the dining room table,"I'm so glad you could make it on such short notice."

"What did you need to talk about?" I asked him taking a seat after he pulled out a chair for me.

"Can't I just want to see your beautiful face?" he said making me smile.

"I guess. I have a question for you." I said.

"Whatever it is I'll have the answer."

"Are you and Alexander actually having dinner tonight together? I don't want to get into your business but I'm just curious since you both disagree on so much." I asked him and he looked surprised by it.

He cleared his throat before replying,"Yes we are having a dinner tonight along with Madison to discuss some main issues right now."

"I don't understand."

"What don't you understand?" he asked confused.

"Why do you and Hamilton dislike each other so much? I know for a fact that you haven't even got to know one another. Just because your political views are different shouldn't mean that you will disagree on everything. You both could agree on something but you'll never know if you are both stubborn."

"Y/N." he paused looking a bit irritated,"Nothing in this world could make me talk to Hamilton in a non business related way."

I sat there across from him not saying anything. Alex and Thomas are both so childish, that's at least one thing in common already.

"Someday." I said a little under my breath but loud enough for him to hear me.

"What?" Thomas questioned.

"Someday you two will find something good in one another." I told him and he laughed a little.

"Why don't we take a walk before I have to meet with Madison and Hamilton." Jefferson proposed.

"Okay." I replied as we walked around Monticello for a little while before it was time for him to leave for the meeting. I told Thomas good bye as he left Monticello in the carriage before mine.

I entered my home being greeted by my father immediately.

"Were you just with Mr. Jefferson?" he asked after I said hello. His tone wasn't really harsh but it wasn't a good one.

"Yes I was but only for a little while." I said looking down at the floor trying to avoid eye contact.

"Is everything okay?" he asked me.

"Why wouldn't it be?" I asked him.

"I'm just worried, that's all. I'll see you tomorrow. There's a Cabinet meeting again this week. Would you like to go?"

"Yeah." I replied and he walked out of the room probably to do more work.

I don't blame him for being worried. I know what he thinks since he's told me. There are risks that I am willing to take even if it does go against what he wants me to do. I just hope Thomas thinks the same.
