"Hey Y/N!" Alex yelled at me. What could it possibly be now?
"Yes Mr. Ham." I said as he stood in front of me.
"Well now I have 2 problems." he said slightly annoyed,"First one, don't ever call me Mr. Ham again. I know where you live. Second, please tell me it's not true."
"What are you talking about?" I asked him puzzled.
"Y/N don't play dumb. Are you or are you not having dinner with that repulsive Thomas Jefferson." Alex made a disgusted face when he said Thomas' name. He is not going to take this well. I can't lie to him. He's practically found out already. But how?
"Where would you hear something like that?" I laughed a little.
He took a deep breath before replying,"Jefferson."
My eyes widened quickly. Why would Thomas be talking about that? Who was he even talking to about it? I certainly know it wasn't Alexander. I'm sure he just eaves dropped on the conversation.
"Y/N is it true or not?" Hamilton said a bit more irritated.
I stood there looking at him for a moment before replying a simple yes. Alex's eyes almost came out of his head they were open so wide. It looked as though Hamilton was having a mental breakdown. All I could do was just stand there and wait for the grown man to stop throwing a hissy fit and say something.
Finally Alex caught his breath and spoke,"Why are you having dinner with him? You don't even know him. I can't believe that you would do this to me. That stupid sassy bast-"
"Alex!" I shouted at him to make him stop as my father was in eye sight walking toward us.
"What?!" Hamilton shouted back at me as my dad was right behind him.
"What's all the excitement about Mr. Hamilton?"
Alex turns around slowly,"Nothing sir I just had to ask Y/N a question."
"It was really nothing." I added.
"I'll give you two a moment to finish your conversation then I need to see you, Alexander, in my office." my father said then walked away.
Hamilton looked at me once again and sighed. We both walked over to a bench and took a seat.
"Why do you not want me to have dinner with him so badly?" I asked him.
He almost ranted again but quickly stopped himself,"Y/N, you're like a sister to me. We're family and I care about you. I know what you deserve and what you deserve is not that dumb Thomas Jefferson. He wont treat you like you should be treated. You just need to know that."
"Alex you hardly know him too. How can you even say that confidently?"
"Something doesn't feel right about him." he replied.
"Maybe there's something wrong with you, huh? I heard that Eliza and the rest are going upstate. You really should go." I said.
"I have to keep working. You know that. At least I'm not going out with Thomas Jefferson."
"Ew now I'm imagining you and Jefferson together. Actually it could be kind of cute. Imagine your babies!" I said freaking Hamilton out with every word.
"Oh god. That's even worse than Mr. Ham!" he said getting up to go see my father.
"I hope you have a horrible time with Jefferson so you realize how right I am!" Hamilton yells as he gets farther away.
I roll my eyes. What a supportive friend.
