Chapter 17 ~ A New Morning

Sunlight filled the bedroom, shining brightly through the curtains. As the sunlight hit Wyatt's eyes, he began to stir. Within a few more heartbeats, Wyatt awoke, recalling all of the events from the previous day. He looked over at Lucy, who was still asleep, breathing and snoring gently. He smiled at her. She looks so cute.. Wyatt thought. Lucy began to stir shortly after Wyatt awoke. "Good morning.." She whispered sleepily. "How'd you sleep?" Wyatt asked, leaning down to Lucy's face, planting a kiss on her forehead. "Okay.. Thank you for everything.. It's nice to know that someone cares.." She replied, smiling. "No problem.. Anything to help out a friend." He told her. Well, more than a friend.. Amy corrected him. Luke jumped up onto the bed and wagged his tail, licking Lucy's hand. "Good morning, Luke!" Lucy said, sitting up and laughing. Wyatt grinned at them. He couldn't be any happier. He and Lucy were together now, and he certainly enjoyed Luke's company. Everything felt complete. Wyatt still missed Jessica, but he had moved on. He looked at Lucy as she played with Luke. He loved her; and he wouldn't know if he'd ever be able to forgive himself if he had ever lost another person (again) that he cared about.

Lucy sensed the hurt in Wyatt's expression. "What's wrong, Wyatt..?" She asked, looking at his perplexed face. He turned to Lucy. "I never want to lose you.. Stay by my side forever and ever." He blurted out. Lucy blushed. "Of course I will.. I promise." She whispered, kissing his cheek. Let's just hope that you aren't going to go down like Bonnie and Clyde.. What I have seen so far.. Is something I cannot bear to see in your future.. I wish I couldn't see what I have witnessed.. Forgive me.. Amy said solemnly. Her words would never be heard, and they wouldn't care nor listen anyway. However, Luke turned and looked at her. I am quite confused.. What do you speak of? The elderly dog asked her. It's something I shall not say.. Something too horrible to mention.. Now goodbye for now, Luke.. The Phantom replied, patting the dog's head. She was beginning to fade away. Please, don't go yet.. I must find out what you meant by something "horrible" in their future.. Luke pleaded. But he was too late to convince The Phantom to stay.. For now. In the meantime, Lucy and Wyatt were still talking. After Luke had seen Amy, and after they had vowed to stay together "forever", everyone started to get ready for the New Morning. And a New Day..

Sorry if this chapter was kinda short! I hit some Writer's Block on the way to completing this chapter, but it's now finished. Yay! I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. Farvel until next time!
