Chapter 20 ~ A Vision of the Future?

Lucy tossed and turned in her sleep. She was having a nightmare. Well, really a vision from The Phantom, but she didn't know that. This time, Lucy saw that in this dream, she appeared to be laying down; on a bed. There was a noise in the distance that sounded like a "beep" or a siren. People were crying in the background, as Lucy's vision began to blur out. The voice of a man was yelling at someone, and an angelic, ghostlike figure hovered over her, holding her hand. Frightened and confused from the dream, Lucy awoke, panting and sweating. She put her head in her hands and cried again. The nightmare had frightened her and she remembered the events that had occurred the day before. A few moments later, Wyatt awoke too. When he saw Lucy crying, he took her in his arms and gently stroked her back as she wept. "Would you like to talk about what you saw?" Wyatt asked Lucy. At first, Lucy shook her head and refused to tell him anything. Then, she remembered that she could tell him anything; so she told him everything, all of the little details, the people, the noises, the horror she had experienced. Wyatt cradled her in his arms and reassured her that everything would be okay. Although, Lucy had a strange feeling that something was terribly wrong - or that it was going to be. At this point, Luke had been woken up from their talking. Sensing that something was wrong, Luke leaped onto the bed with them again, "attacking" them with slobbery kisses, just like he did to Wyatt the night before. They all laughed, and then began to get ready for the day that lay ahead of them. Lucy truly did wonder what she'd seen in her dream. Assuming it was probably nothing, she brushed off the thought as they got ready for the day. Forgive me, my dear sister.. I'm sorry you had to have that horrible vision.. Amy said softly. She felt like she was going to burst into tears like Lucy, but she did not. After observing them for a few more heartbeats, The Phantom was gone.
