Chapter 35

Happiness swarmed through me when I found out my sister was pregnant. I was going to be an aunt! Same for Jiya and Denise.. Let's not forget Connor and Rufus! Oh, the amazing things I could do with my niece or nephew.. *sigh* wish I were still there..
Anyways, Lucy and Wyatt were on their way home. I was sitting in the back seat with Luke. I explained to him the horrible things I had seen. Obviously he doesn't understand a lot, but he gets the idea. And he's just as terrified as I am. But he made a promise, a promise that he's willing to keep.

By the time Lucy and Wyatt had gotten home, night had fallen. It had been a hell of a day. It was the day that everything had been revealed; Hamilton and Laurens' letters, Flynn's affection for Emma, Lucy's pregnancy, and the new present. Denise was unfortunately correct; because of Laurens and Hamilton's deaths, everything was out of order: the government was run by idiots, segregation was beginning again, and so much more.. As soon as they walked in the door, they knew something was off. The house was perfectly fine. But something was weird about Luke. The dog had bumped into the kitchen table. He began sniffing around the table, as if it were new. Weird.. Lucy thought. "So, it has been a hell of a day. I'm exhausted.." Wyatt said. "Me too.." Lucy said, turning away from Luke.
"What's wrong Luce..? Thinking about our child or something?" He asked. Lucy shook her head. "Nope. Just confused because of America and tired." She replied. "Oh. Understood. Let's get to bed." Wyatt said. Soon they were in bed together. Wyatt and Luke were out cold. Lucy lay wide awake that night, left alone with her thoughts. What is up with Luke? She wondered. It seems like EVERYTHING has gone wrong today..
