Chapter 41 ~ Let's Check In

*Lyatt/Amy and Luke POV*
Going to a doctor appointment for Lucy two weeks later.

"Sit still Luke!" I growled in the back of the car. He glared at me.

"I'm trying to! I'm just so excited! But I failed you, Amy.." 

"What?"

"I failed you!" He repeated.

"Because you promised to be a guardian? Is that what this is all about?"

"YES!" He snapped back.

"You never failed me.. We all die.. and I'm VERY proud of what you have done so far.."

Luke shifted his paws. "I still feel guilty.." He mumbled.

I just rolled my eyes and patted his back.

Finally, we got to the hospital.

"Well, here goes nothing.." I whispered as we stepped out of the car.

*Lyatt POV*

Lucy and Wyatt were both quite nervous, yet excited. They walked into the hospital, hoping for good news about their child.

While Wyatt checked them into the hospital, Lucy found a seat in the waiting room.

She was minding her own business, reading a magazine, when someone called out to her.

"Hey! I recognize you!"

"It's me, Anne! Remember? My two kids were always being little assholes to you and your fiancé."

Lucy immediately looked up from reading.

"Oh my god.. Hi!" Lucy said, excited.

"Congrats, by the way." Anne commented, looking at Lucy's stomach.

"Thank you. Anyways, you probably know why I'm here. How come you're here Anne?" Lucy replied.

Anne sighed. "Long story short, my kids thought it was a good idea to stand on top of one of our horses, Breezy,
(Maplefang you know where this is going!) and try to climb a tree; and yes, if you haven't guessed yet, that animal went running the moment they got on her and ran their asses over."
Anne explained.

"Damn, are they okay?!"

"I hope so. Probably just a few broken bones, but you never know.."

"Oh. Well I sure hope they feel better!"

"Thank you, I hope so too.." Anne said.

"Nice dog." Anne commented. She was a physic medium, meaning she could see spirits.

"What? What dog? I don't see anything." Lucy replied.

SHIT! I'm a medium, she isn't, I'll just make an excuse.. Dammit.

"I meant the little puppy that was outside! He and his owners are across the street, out of my sight now!" Anne beamed.

"Oh.. Well, for a second you really had me freaked out there!" Lucy said, laughing.

"Yeah.." Anne said. She looked at Luke and Amy one last time and continued talking to Lucy.

"Lucy Preston?" A voice of a doctor interrupted them.

"Well, I have to go! I hope all is well, Anne." Lucy said with a smile then walked away with Wyatt.

"Good luck!" Anne said waving.

*In examination room or whatever it's called*

The nurse lead them to a room.

"Okay, wait here. The doctor will be here soon." She said then left them alone.

"I just hope everything is going well.." Lucy whispered.

"I'm sure all is fine." Wyatt replied.

After a few more moments of silence, the doctor walked in.

SHE walked in.

"Why hello again Ms. Preston, Mr. Logan. Nice to see you again..."

A familiar voice with an accent said.

"Daniya?!" Lucy said excitedly, turning to look in the direction of the door.

"Yes, it's me." Daniya replied with a smile.

"I could never forget your accent Daniya.."

"And I could never forget you two.."

"Anyways, how have you been feeling Lucy? Any pain or..?"

Lucy nodded. "Just some stomach pains, but that's normal. Right?"

"Yes, that's fine. I assume this is your first child?"

"Yep. Our first child." Wyatt cut in.

"Congratulations then." Daniya said, rolling the 'R' in 'congratulations'.

"So, let's check in and see how the youngster is doing.."

Daniya put special gel on Lucy's stomach and moved the wand around.

She asked Lucy and Wyatt some questions and looked at the baby.

"Well, all looks good! Proshchay!"

Wyatt and Lucy stood up to leave, then turned around to face Daniya.

"Um, what?"

"Proshchay! It means goodbye in Russian."

"Oh. Then 'Proshchay' and thank you!"

After saying goodbye to everyone, including Anne, Lucy and Wyatt left the hospital, both filled with pride and happiness.

"I'm so glad that everything is okay.." Lucy whispered.

"Me too." Wyatt replied with a smile.

"But I can never be sure of the future, of course..."
