There was a girl.

She was kinder than anyone you'd ever know.
And she always stayed strong in a world of overwhelming curls.

Until one day the insults at school
from her hair being straight,
became to much.
She entered a dead state.

She was tired,
of being battered every day.
By insults and names
and filthy words gone astray.

And she got angry
at all the bullies at school.
Because what they had done
was very "not cool."

So the next day
she showed up with her head held high.
Her intentions a level low.
And she shouted the insults,
the filthy words and the names,
blow after blow.
Until she was sent home for harassment.

Her parents yelled at her,
and she felt great shame.
She had never wanted to
play in this game.

If she didn't bully,
she would get bullied.
If she bullied she was ridiculed.
If she got bullied she was ignored.

So when her parents went to sleep
she made a plan.
And went to the bathroom,
supplies in hand.

She looked in the mirror,
and took the painkillers,
and then she started to sow her mouth,
with what will she had left.

She could never speak,
a harsh word again,
for she wouldn't speak at all.

And she silently laughed,
the next day at school.
Because when she was shouted at,
all she heard was silence.
For the night before, she had sown her ears too.
