Dawn 'till Dusk

Part 26 - It's a lot to take in..

‘Dawn! You have to go! Please!’ Christopher shouted.

‘I don’t want to, you’re my mate, I will stay with you!’ I screamed, while Angel was trying to pull me towards the car.

We had gotten a report that the vampires were planning on attacking our packhouse, all the women were being sent away. Angel was taking me to Nana, but I didn’t want to leave. Christopher took a deep breath, to calm himself, but opened his eyes wide. He came over to us, hugging me tight.

‘Darling please, for our baby girl, go to your Nana?’ he asked.

‘What.. what do you mean?’

‘Can’t you feel it? I couldn’t smell it, because of your heat, but.. you’re pregnant,’ he said.

‘No.. no that can’t be.. we used.. I can’t.. I’m not pregnant!’ I said firm.

‘Muffin, I think maybe the time before your pain. I think that time did it,’ he whispered.

‘But I can’t.. My mom.. Oh.. I’m dead..’ I whispered.

‘Think of the baby then,’ Angel said, gently pulling me over to the car.

‘Christopher!’ I yelled, while he was walking to the house. ‘Christopher, you must promise me to come to me. Do not fail me, you will come to me!’

‘I will come to you, Muffin. I will come to you and our baby girl,’ he promised with tears in his eyes.

Angel drove me to town, we stopped at a drugstore. I needed to be sure, he could have lied to me. I bought a pregnancy test and we went to my grandmothers house. She was expecting us, so when I got into the house I yelled something about needing a toilet and ran inside. I did the test and soon I was pacing, waiting for it to be done. When the time was done, I checked the test and my knees buckled.

‘Oh my god.. Oh why didn’t I use.. Oh my god.. Angel!’ I went from whispers to shouting.

‘Oh Dawn, what’s going on?’ she asked me through the door.

‘I’m scared, I’m.. I’m pregnant..’ I whispered when I opened the door.

‘You are what?’ Nana asked, standing beside Angel.

‘Nana, it wasn’t planned,’ I muttered.

‘I’m going to be a great grandmother!’ she said, overjoyed.

Both women hugged me tight, congratulating me.

Christopher POV.

Me and my wolves were efficiently holding down our house. Daniel and I were still looking for the one, their leader, but again, he wasn’t there. This time I was prepared.

‘Daniel, keep everyone alive, work together and stay strong. I believe in you, I need to go to Dawn,’ he said.

‘Is she in trouble?’ he asked.

‘Not yet.’

I ran to Nana’s house, I knew he would go look for her there, I should have sent her a lot further away. Soon I arrived at her house, seeing him enter through a window on the second story.

‘Darling he’s at Nana’s house, shift now!’ I told her.

I went to look for a place to enter the house, everything seemed to be closed. I jumped up on the roof, entering through Dawn’s window.

Dawn POV.

I heard Christopher’s warning.

‘He’s here,’ I told Angel.
