"F*ck... Lea!" I heard someone yell, disturbing me from my slumber. "Lea, get the f*ck up!"

I lept off of the couch, and fell in a mass of blankets, groaning. "What the hell do you want?"

"Just,  go with Kia, I will see you as soon as I can." Bretton said, and I opened my eyes, and looked at his figure in the dark.

"Bretton, what's going on?" But he didn't answer, he just left the room, leaving me alone.

Getting up, I stumbled and ran into a body. "Lea, come with me! I'll explain later." Kia pleaded, pulling me roughly through the darkness. Despite my exhaustion, I was suddenly awake. What was going on? I looked around frantically, but I didn't see anything different, and I didn't hear anything but our pounding feet.

We started to descend, and I almost fell down the stairs more then three times. I heard her open a door, and I widened my eyes as I saw the women and children from the pack all packed into the small room. "What's going on?" I asked Kia quietly.

"A- a rogue band attacked the pack house, and we needed to bring everyone down to the safe room.  The fight is really big, we had to bring all of our warriors to go fight." Kia said, slumping down to the ground, me following after her.

"Like... a war?" I asked, my voice wavered.

"Y- yes."

"I can't believe this is happening." I said, it was pitch black and I couldn't see anything, not even my hands in front of my face. "What the hell do those rogues want?"

"We're not sure. I was thinking it was just for money, but when they got into the house, they were just searching the rooms taking nothing with them. We got you in here in time."

What would they be looking for if they didn't want money? Territory? I wasn't sure. My head started to form a headache when I was concentrating too hard.

We had all just been sitting in silence, and a pit formed in my stomach when children started to cry. I hated seeing people weep, and I wasn't able to do anything about it.

I little girl next to me was balling her eyes out, and calling out her mother. I pulled her into my arms, and placed her on my lap. Stroking her hair, I whispered soothing words into her ear.

"I'm scared." She said, her lip quivering.

"Sh, there is nothing to be scared about. Everything will be alright." I shouldn't have said it. There was a loud bang from above us, and screams. The children all started to panic, and their cries filled the room, and the women all tried to get them to quiet down.

The rogues wouldn't be able to hear us through the walls, they were soundproof, but no one would want to hear children crying for hours.

There was another bang, more screams, and silence.

No child deserved to go through this. No one did.

It was quiet for fifteen minutes besides the yelling, and crying children. "I feel so bad for the kids." I said to Kia.

"I know, but there is nothing we can do but try to get them to calm down." Kia says, she had a little boy and girl in her lap.

"It's not working." I sighed.

After what felt like an hour, the children all got quiet and fell asleep. I was freaking out about Bretton. I was wondering if he was okay, if he got hurt. The worst case scenarios played in my head, driving me insane. I wasn't able to help anyone in this pack. And I was the Luna.

There was a girl who looked to be in her later thirties and I placed the little girl on her lap, "Can you watch her?" I ask, and she nods quickly.

"Kia, we need to go and see what's going on out there. It's killing me not being able to help." I told her.
