My fingers gently brushed the mark that now pronounced my being with Bretton. It slightly tingled under my touch, but I knew it would overreact if it were Bretton's fingers. I chuckle slightly at that.
I couldn't stop thinking about that night, it was so kind of him to do that for me.
Just like he had said, I had more of an.... intimate... urge to be with him, and my heart ached when he wasn't around.
Rogues were attacking more often, and he was being the dumbnut he is and wouldn't tell me anything about it, I found out about the attacks from Kia, or the occasional Braxton or Chad.
I know Bretton didn't want me to freak out about the rogue attacks by telling me about the more often attacks they were getting, but in my mind, it'd make more sense for me to know so I wasn't oblivious if the pack house was raided, or if I'm sleeping in the middle of the night and a window shatters.
Getting dressed in a pair of black yoga pants, and white v-neck, I left my room and went downstairs to the loud kitchen. "Dennis, you f*cking idiot!" I heard Tina screach.
Oh, sibling love.
"What the hell are you guys fighting about at eight in the morning?" I yelled over the ruckus.
Everyone who was in the room- consisting of Braxton, Dennis, Tina, Sally, and Jake- got quiet. "Dennis here stole my peanut butter and jelly!" Tina yelled again, launching herself at Dennis again, and I spotted the precious sandwhich of Tina's in his right hand.
"Oh, come on Dennis, stop being such a poop and give Tina her stupid sandwhich back!" I groaned, making myself a piece of toast.
"I am not a poop." Dennis said.
"You won't be if you give Tina her sandwhich." I said, buttering my bread.
I heard Tina yell in triumph as Dennis gave in and gave her her sandwhich back. "Now was that so hard?" Tina teased.
Dennis ignored her, and I sat on the island stool beside Sally. "Where's Bretton?" I asked as the kitchen grew silent.
"Steering some rogues out of our territory." Braxton groaned, running his hands through his hair. "He keeps keeping me and Chad here to watch over you. Not like it's a bad thing, though."
I nod in understanding. "I know what you mean, I'm really boring."
I had to agree with myself. But, I really didn't know if I was boring or not. At least I hoped I wasn't boring. No one really said they were bored around me, but they might have thought it. I don't even know why I'm worrying about if I'm boring or not.
"Guys!" Kia yells from the kitchen entrance. Everyone's attention turns to her, and Braxton walks up to her, and wraps her in his arms. "We're going training. Lea, if you want you can come and watch."
I lighten up with excitement. This'll be fun! "Okay." I get up and follow everyone out of the kitchen and into the backyard. A handful of people were outside, and two people were wrestling on a worn down patch of grass-more like dry dirt-.
It was really fun-fascinating, really- to watch the werewolves do wolfy traditions. They didn't seem to be in a death fight, but their faces were filled with seriousness, and I could tell they were experienced fighters.
Once the group of trainees saw me, they all bowed their heads and made way for me so I could see better. I smiled. Everyone was so kind to me. Except for some people, that is. It made me kind of sad inside that everyone might be being nice to me just because of my new title, that they want to avoid confrontation with Bretton. I hope that wasn't true.
