Beep, beep.

I pushed my face farther into my pillow, hoping it would make the noise go away.

Beep, Beep.

"The hell?" I lifted my head slightly, and peeled open my eyes.

The clock read 7:30.

My eyes widened, and I flew out of my bed, the blankets scattering the floor. "God dang it I'm gonna be late!" I yelled to myself, flying into the bathroom.

It surprised me how I managed to take a shower, brush my hair and teeth, and throw on a light blue sweater, with capri pants, in just 20 minutes. I guess being latee to school made you an immediate professional getting-ready-for-school athlete when you're late.

I decided to skip breakfast, and just head to the bus stop. I was already late as it is.

I slipped on my converse and backpack, and headed out the door. The light hurt my eyes, making me cover half my face in my hand, and squint my eyes to ease the brightness and pain the sun had brought to me.

Looking at the time from my phone, it read 7:56. My bus stop was three blocks away, and the bus would be coming in 4 minutes. Unless it was running late.

Dang.

I sprinted down the sidewalk, and across roads like my life had depended on it. By the time I reached the stop, my heart was thumping, my feet were sore, and the back of my legs burned. If you couldn't tell, I wasn't the one for being very active. I gasped for air, and the other pupils who went to my school looked at me like I had a tarantula sitting on top of my head.

"What?" I said breathlessly, and immediately took in interest in the shoes I was wearing when I realized I had said it aloud.

Luckily, the bus arrived to save the day before anyone could start talking. I pulled out some change and payed for my ride, sitting down near the bus's exit.

I pulled out a book, and read. It was To Kill A Mockingbird and it was an assignment for English. And an essay was do on it. Guess when it was due? Today. I hadn't even started on it yet.

I felt a presence to my left, and l slowly looked up mid-sentence from my book, pushing hair out of my face. Instantly freezing, I looked at the god in front of me. Do not panic. Do not panic.

"Can I sit here?"

It was Bretton Williams. The most popular guy in High school. An every girl's dream boyfriend. And I'm not lying when I said this, but, boy was he smokin'. I mentally smacked myself from the comment I made on him.

He is asking me if he could sit by me, of all seats that were available on the bus.

"Uh- oh- um.. yeah." I stuttered, looking down at the ground as I blushed in embarrassment. Gosh, why couldn't I just have a whole day without getting humiliated?

I heard him chuckle, and I shoved myself as far as I could into the corner. My heart was racing. My hands were sweaty. Damn it. I even had to clutch the hems of my sweater so he wouldn't notice the frantically shaking hands of mine.

Looking out the window, I noticed we were nearing school. Phew. Soon I'd be off this bus, and go back to the way life usually rolled. Hopefully. I crossed my fingers.

Daring a glance up, I noticed he was busy on his phone, texting. Tearing my eyes away from him, I looked away. What would be more awkward than Bretton catching me looking?

As my eyes roamed more of the bus, my eyes landed on Chelsey Miller's. Crap. To make things even better, she noticed I was looking at her, and her make-up filled eyes narrowed, and her glossy, red lips formed into a scowl. Another popular person I made contact with. It was a new record of mine.

I looked away quickly before she could put a curse on me.

This has been one hell of a beginning to the day.
