Kid's POV

"Hey hun," I said while Cora was running at me, before she hugged me. I broke it off after a few seconds and kissed her on the forhead.

"Hello," she smiled.

We were at her gravesite. It sort of has become our designated meeting spot. It was was sort of sad, to me at least, but sort of has become joyous because it symbolizes that she is still here with me. Forever and always.

"How are you sleeping?" I asked her.

"The sun keeps me up during the day but I get a few hours," she took my hand and led me to the road.

It had been a few days since I'd seen her becasuse I found out the hard way that I can't stay out every night and also get to my classes and to homework. We meet almost every Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Not Saturday because people are out late and we've almost gotten caught more than a few times. "Thats too bad," I said.

"I missed you though," she said quietly.

"I missed you too!" I said. I took my hand from hers and put it around her shoulder. She kissed me quickly on the lips and pulled away.

We continued talking and walking around the city. We mostly talked about people. We talked about Soul, Maka, and Tsubaki and Black Star. We talked about how Crona is still semi missing. She shows up to classes sometimes, but she never really answers our questions about where she had been or how she had been doing. She just smiles and changes the subject. We're all pretty worried because she'd always show up with bruises and fading scratches and new scars everywhere, always in the same dress.

Cora and I usually make our way back to her gravesite around 4:30 so she could get herself back to her dungeon by 5.

"I like your necklace," I said sarcastically about the skull silver piece of jewelry I got for her. I always make these partings awkward.

She smiled and hugged me. I hugged her back and felt her bury her head into me neck. "I hate this, Kid," she whispered in my ear.

"I know, me too," I pulled away and looked into her eyes, "So much." I kissed her, first gently on the nose and then not so gently on the lips before she left me alone on her grave. Standing there made me really sad so I made it a point to never stay long. Soul asked me once if I wanted to come back here. He said if I faced it I might feel better able get closure. I'm not sure if I believed that though. I still blame myself for not protecting her.

Kicking stones and humming payphone, I found my way back to the manor, still shrouded in darkness. The lights are still off and Liz's snoring could be heard all throughout the place once the door was open. I felt bad for Patti, who had to share a room with her. Who would've guessed four bedrooms wouldn't be enough for the grim reaper and his only child. Well, I supose the guest bedroom was open, but Patti couldn't stand the thought of being across the house from Liz for the entire night. That, and Cora's room wasnt to be touched on orders from me, ever.

Kayla's POV

It made me sick watching Soul eat. I mean I get that everything goes to the same place and all that but he is just so crude about it. He was in the middle of eating a banna and refried bean breakfast sandwich with eggs and topped with hot sauce, syrup, and salad dressing. Maka and I exchanged gross looks before continuing to get ready for classes.

I had a meeting with Meudsa after I finish my last lab class with Stein. I could practically guess what it's going to be about, Kid and Cora. Crona has been hanging around again the last few times Eureka told me Medusa wanted to see me. She communicates with me while I'm watching Cora at night.

"C'mon Soul, it's time to go!" Maka yelled

"I'm coming, chill man," he responded oh so cooly.

I giggled and followed Maka out of the building. We often left Soul, who was 'too cool' to show up to the acadeny before the early bell.

Stien's class came to an end pretty quickly, well to me it seemed that way. I wasnt loooking forward to seeing Medusa because she always makes me feel so insignificant; whereas, here I know that I'm more intelligent than all of my classmates about everything we are learning. I usually place higher than Maka, but i change my grades on my papers so she still feels good about herself because I dont need her hating me. I don't mind being lower on the totem pole compared to her because we are such good 'friends' and everyone else in this damn city seems stupid compared to her. Everyone around here is so happily ignorant.

"How good to see you," Medusa said sophisticatedly. All the power from this cult she had been running was getting to her head. Everyone I remembered from before was gathered and staring at me from a semicircle they had formed around the table on the far side of the room.

"Oh, uhm, hello," I said and waved a small wave around my shoulder and joined the pack.

Medusa stood up from her sitting position on her throne she had set up in the corner next to the window. "You all know that this is difficult for me to say, she pulled a snake and sat down on it's head and gracefully floated to the ceiling. "The last two kishin attempts I set up, ending semi catastrophically," She was was now talking with her eyes closed as if she was in real pain talking to us about this. "The first being Crona which ended up with me having to cut my soul up and distribute it in my sakes. The other, being Clyde, resulting in me almost losing my soul to the DWMA." She almost chuckled at her failure, or maybe it was her plan for the next kishin, which is obviously where this was going. To me it was obvious but the faces of the other witches were still in absolute ignorance.

Medusa lowered herself back to a standing position and opened her eyes. "But now we have Kayla!"

I felt my eyes open wide at this, almost like they were going pop out of my head. I looked around at everyone who was looking at me.

"What?"
