I sat outside the coffee shop, processing what had just happened while waiting for Shawn. Numerous questions and thoughts were swirling around my head, helping me grasp the uneasiness that was shifting at the pit of my stomach. I'd never come across a man like him before, making it bizarre that i seem to remember him. His eyes burned into my mind, for me to dwell on his identity, searching every nook and crevice, though nothing seemed to reveal itself, as if the memory of him was hiding at the back on my mind, scared to be uncovered. He was tall and slender, his muscles were large and stereotypically, he went to the gym each day, spending at least an hour on every exercise.

I must of looked deep in thought as Shawn's Jeep rolled up to the curb. Getting out he furrowed his eyebrows while staring at me, lost in my thoughts, taking a seat on the bench beside me.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his face a mix of worry and confusion, as i seemed to not be paying attention to my surroundings

"Hm?" i questioned, "oh yeah, sorry, just thinking," i forced a light smile, to relieve him from any stress he may have been holding back, relaxing his muscles as he stood up, holding his hand out for me

"c'mon," nodding his head over to the car, i slipped my hand in his and he lead me to the passenger side, opening the door as i hopped in, before heading to the drivers seat. i buckled my seatbelt and faced forward, watching as Shawn's gaze fell on me

"where are we going?" i asked, with a hint of excitement radiating from my voice, i hated surprises, but this one was particularly interesting. Smiling he tapped his nose, as if to tell me he's not going to say, leaving me wondering while we pulled away from the coffee shop and onto the main road.

I fidgeted with my hands, the radio playing in the background, as i watched the road carefully, taking in my surroundings. The motorway was busy, as usual, and the various amount of cars whizzing past, left me thinking of how our lives could be over just like that, just by one small accident, whether it's the drivers fault or the weathers, one small slip up could send you flying, remembering the last minutes of your life being the ones right before. It was scary if i'm honest, ever since my parents' 'accident' i've been on edge about getting into a car for months, but something about Shawn made me feel.. safe, like i was protected by this forcefield only he and I could see.

"Did i tell you how ravishing you look today?" Shawn smirked, causing me to laugh loudly at his choice of words

"Why thank you Mendes, you don't look to bad yourself," i chimed, observing his outfit for the first time since we'd gotten into the car. He wore a white t-shirt that fitted around his muscles, illuminating his features, pairing it with black jeans and shoes, while his watch sat firmly on his wrist, on the same hand his silver wring fitted perfectly on his middle finger. His hair was messy, the way i preferred it, not that i've seen it any other way, but i knew it would be my favourite, his curls dancing around just above his forehead, as he ran his fingers through his hair. Only now had i realised how beautiful this boy was, his eyes like a pool of chocolate waiting to swallow me whole, his smile as bright as the sun, radiating happiness whenever he showed it. The scar on his right cheek, so small but noticeable, making me dwell on the story of how he got it. I didn't understand why a guy like him, so built and beautiful, could choose a girl like me, large and pained, but the universe works in magical ways, and i could tell that that question was for another day.

Shawn laid his hand on mine, preventing me from fidgeting anymore. Relaxing as the warmth of his hand consoled mine, i let out a sigh i didn't even know i was holding in, bringing my hand to his lips, he slowly kissed my fingers, lingering on my pinky and he pressed my hand to his cheek.
