48. Last day

Last day of the convention

"No it can't be the last day!" I said sitting and eating breakfast with Chris and Zach. "Well believe it Layla." Chris said with a smile. "I have had so much fun. I wish I could just stay here forever." I said taking a bite of eggs.

"Well I am ready to go home and see the kids. I miss them." Zach said taking a sip of his coffee. "Ya I miss them too." I said with a sigh.

"Yep once you guys get home it is back to diaper changes and bottle making." Chris said with a smile.

"Don't remind us." Zach and I said in unison. "You know the whole time we have been here we did not go to one casino." Zach pointed out. "I thought it was because Layla was to young." Chris said sarcastically.

"For your information I am 25 years old!" I responded. "Yet you ask the people that work here for Vegas beads." Chris said laughing. "Everyone wears those!" I said frustrated.

"Ok you two enough." Zach said with a laugh. "After we are done eating lets go down to the casino and try our luck." Zach suggested. We smiled and agreed. After we were done we went to the casino.

A few hours later

(Zach's POV)

"Damn! Lost $20 on a slot machine." Chris said walking over to me. I was standing against a wall watching Layla play at a poker table. "How did you do man?" Chris asked. "I won $20 on a penny machine so I decided to stop while I was ahead." I said with a smile.

Chris looked at Layla and then back at me. "So have you told her about the call." Chris asked me. "Nope I am going to tell her tonight." I said with a smile. "Congrats man I am really happy for you. Have fun in New York." Chris said giving me a hug.

"Thanks man. I wanted to ask you something." I said. "What is it?" Chris asked me. "It would be an honor to have you be my grooms men along with Karl." I said with a smile. Chris smiled. "Ya man of course I will be in your wedding! Just tell me when and I will be on the first flight to New York." Chris said happily.

"Thanks Chris this means a lot to me." I said with a smile. "No problem." Chris responded with a smirk. Chris was going to say something but we saw Layla coming are way.

"Guess who just won $60 at the poker table!" Layla said happily. "What that's awesome!" Chris said giving Layla a high five. "Hey Zach won $20 so put the together and you got $80!" Chris pointed out.

"You won $20?" Layla asked with a smile. "Ya on the penny machine." I responded. "Cool I think this calls for some margaritas!" Layla cheered. "Are you sure the last time you got drunk you had my kids." I said sarcastically.

"The more the marryer." Layla said grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the bar.

Later that day in the hotel room. (Layla POV)

"So what were you talking to Chris about today in the casino?" I asked Zach getting ready for bed. "Nothing just the future." Zach said with a smile.

I nodded in response. "Layla I have something to tell you." Zach said. "What is it?" I asked sitting at the table with Zach. "Well yesterday while you were at you photo op I got a call from New York and I got the part in the Glass Menagerie." he said with a smile.

I smiled and tears came to my eyes. I jumped up and gave Zach a hug. "That is amazing Zach I am so proud of you! I knew you could do it." I said giving Zach a kiss.

"Bad news is they need me in 3 months." Zach said getting serious. I tried to keep on a smile. "So we are moving to New York." I asked. Zach nodded. "Are you ok?" Zach asked.

"How could I not be! You got the part and as your fiancé I am right by your side." I said with a smile. "Kaya I know your happy for me but this is a big sacrifice." Zach said seriously.

"This means moving away from your friends ,your family." he stated. I sat on Zach's lap. "Hey, you, John and Joslyn are my family now. This is going to change are lives for the better." I said wrapping my arms around his neck. "I want to start new with you in New York you know why....... because I love you." I said giving Zach a kiss.

"I am so lucky to have you in my life." he said putting his forehead to mine. "As am I." I said with a smile.

Next morning

We were all eating are last meal together as one big Star Trek family. Every actor from every series is here to say there goodbyes. Zach and I sat at a table with everyone from the movie.

"I am really gonna miss you guys." I said with a frown. "Well there is always next year." Zoe stated. "Well we mit be going to the New York Star Trek convention. It will be closer to home." Zach said with a smile.

Everyone looked at Zach confused. "Zach got a part in a broadway play so we are moving to New York." I said with a smile. Everyone clapped and cheered for Zach. "Congrats man!" Karl said with a smile. "Thanks guys." Zach said with a smile.

We were all talking and eating when someone came and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to see Mr.Nimoy and Mr.Shatner! "Good morning Mr.Nimoy and Mr.Shatner." I said getting up with a smile. They both chuckled.

"Good morning Layla." Mr.Shatner said. "We have something for you." Mr.Nimoy said. I looked down and saw them holding a big wrapped frame. They handed it to me and I unwrapped it like a kid on Christmas Day. I smiled and tears came to my eyes.

It was a picture of the U.S.S Enterprise and I had been signed by everyone from TOS! "Thank you so much." I said giving both of them a hug. "Your welcome. Just see this as a welcome to the family gift." William said with a smile. "It is very nice to finally meet you Layla." Mr.Nimoy said before they both walked away.

"It was nice to meet you guys too!" I said waving my hand.

A few hours later

Everything is packed up and all are luggage was in the car. "Well this was a fun weekend." Chris said with a smile. "Ya I am kinda sad it is over." I said buckling my seat belt. Zach turned on the car and pulled out of the Parking Lot.

"Punch it Mr.Spock!" I said with a smile. "Hey that is not your line!" Chris said with a smile.

"Spock......Punch it." Chris said.

Zach shook his head and started driving home.
