51. Goodbye party

Zach and I had took the kids to Gymboree. They are 8 months now so they are starting to crawl. We were in the car and the kids were fast asleep in their carseats. Zach was driving and I was looking at the kids through the rear view mirror.

"They are getting so big." I said quietly with a smile. "Ya I still can't believe it sometimes." Zach said looking at me.

"Are you ready for the big move?" I asked him. "Yes I got truck and everything that will take are stuff to New York." He stated.

"No I mean are you ready?" I asked him. He sighed. "Ya I am ready. Ready to start a new with you." he said putting his hand on my lap. "And the kids." he said looking back at them.

Zach pulled into our parking space. I got out and unbuckled John while Zach unbuckled Joslyn. I unlocked the door and let Zach go in first.

I flipped on the lights and a bunch of people jumped out yelling.

"Surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Zach and I jumped and clutched on to the babies. We calmed down and realized what was going on....... Surprise party. We looked around and saw many familiar faces.

Minerva, Monica, Joe, Chris, Zoe, JJ, and Sophie.

The babies woke up and looked around sleepily. Minerva and Monica walked over to us and gave us a hug. "Surprised?" Monica asked giving Zach a hug. "Yes I am. You guys scared the crap out of me!" Zach said with a smile. Everyone laughed.

"What is all this for?" I asked Minerva. "You guys did not think we were going to let you move without a proper goodbye did you?!" she said with a smile.

"How did you contact all my friends?" Zach asked. Chris walked up behind Minerva and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Well Minerva told me the plan and I contacted the whole gang." Chris said with a smile.

"Wait where's Karl?" Zach asked looking around. "He wanted to be here but he is in Canada right now working on Almost Human."Chris said. Zach nodded and smiled.

Zach and I put the babies to bed and then walked back to the party. JJ walked up to us and smiled. "Congratulations on the Glass Menagerie Zach." JJ said giving Zach a hug. "Thanks man. Wait shouldn't you be in Canada too?" Zach asked.

Oh ya JJ is one of the producers on Almost Human. I completely forgot.

"Ya but I told them that I had something important to do." he said with a smile.

Then next person to walk up to us was Zoe. "Zoe hi!" I said with a smile giving her a hug. "Hey congrats you two. I hope everything goes well in New York." she said with a smile.

"Thank you Zoe." I said smiling at my new friend. "Hey bro!" Joe said giving Zach a big hug. "Im gonna miss you man. Have fun in New York." Joe said with a smile. "Thanks bro." Zach said.

Jon turned to me. "Layla look after my brother ok." Joe said. "Always." I said looking up at Zach. "Congrats girl!" Sophie said giving me a hug. "Your going to be a great boss." I told my friend. "You too." she replied.

Chris walked up to us and smiled "Wow I am really going to miss you guys." Chris said sadly. "Hey it not forever." I said. "Ya man we are gonna come and visit." Zach said reassuring his friend. "You better." he said giving us a hug.

The rest of the night we talked and laughed and told funny stories. When it was time to go people said there last goodbyes and started to leave. The two people to leave was Monica and Minerva.

I walked them out to their car. We all stopped and looked at each other and started crying. "Layla we are really gonna miss you." Monica said giving me a hug. "We are not gonna be a few miles apart anymore." Minerva said wiping her eyes.

"We have been tight since high school." Monica cried. We were all hugging each other. "You guys are my best friends. This is not the end guys. It's just a new beginning." I said trying to smile.

"Ya we know." Monica said. "We will always be sisters." Minerva said. "Ya always." I said hugging my friends.

I watched them as they drove off and then I went back inside.

Zach and I were laying in bed and I smiled. "Zach?" I said to see if he was awake. "Ya?" he asked.

"I'm ready now."
