50. Boss

I got dressed and head off to work. I put on my best clothes to impress my boss. I got there and I saw Sophie sitting at the front desk.

"Hey Sophie where is he?" I asked nervously pulling down my skirt. "He is in your office. Good luck girl." Sophie said before I walked down the hall to my office.

I opened the door and my boss was sitting at my desk going through my things. "Um sir....." I said shyly. He looked up and smiled at me.

"Ah Layla please come sit." he said. I closed the door and sat down. "So I hear you wanted the job in New York?" he asked me. "Yes sir I do." I responded.

"Do you know what job I am going to give you?" my boss asked. "No sir I do not, but I have a feeling you are going to tell me." I said confidently.

"I want you to be the Head Manger of the new clinic in New York." he said. I looked at him shocked.

Head Manger that is a big responsibility!

The boss picked up a picture frame I had sitting on my desk. It was a picture of Zach and I with the kids. "So this is your husband?" my boss asked. "Yes sir my fiancé." I said "And these are your kids?" he asked. "Yes sir." I responded.

"You have a nice family. Well I wish you the best when you go to New York. Your going to make a great Head Manger." my boss said getting up to leave.

"Um sir what about Sophie?" I asked him. "She was given a raise. She will be Head Manger of this clinic once you leave." he said with a smile.

"Thank you sir." I said as he left the room. A few seconds later Sophie came rushing into my office. "So did you get the job?" she asked.

"Ya Head Manger." I said. "I also hear that you are gonna be taking charge when I leave. Congrats Sophie." I said giving my friend a hug.

"Congrats to you! Your getting married soon. I am so happy for you." she said with a smile. "Thank you Sophie. Im really gonna miss you." I said sadly.

"I'm gonna miss you too but don't worry I will see you in a couple of months walking down the aisle." my close friend said with a smile.

We talked and laughed for a while before I drove home. I opened the door and saw Zach sitting on the couch reading. "Hey so what happened?" Zach asked me.

"I got the job and my boss is making me the Head Manger of the new clinic." I said with a smile. "Layla that's great." Zach said getting up to give me a kiss.

"Where are the kids?" I giggled. "I put them down for their nap 10 minutes ago." Zach said with a smile. "Good that should give us at least an hour of alone time." I said with a smile giving Zach another kiss.

Yes life is good..............
