Murdoc Niccals wasn't one to be known for the relaxing type that went to cafés. In fact, he was well known for his horrifying features that could even scare a blind man. When he walked into the coffee shop on the 17th of May, the occupants scurried for the door.

Except for three people.

Stuart Pot, a lanky, blue-haired man had his laptop in his face, his headphones blasting Dave Matthews Band into his ears. He was completely oblivious to the fact that this man even entered through the glass doors. He could care less if he came walking up to him.

Noodle, a small eight-year-old worked at the café. How she got the job; no one knows. She made fantastic coffees and pastries, so if she was fired, this café was screwed. She was aware of the green-skinned man that came through the door because the bells that hung were jingling. The small barista looked up and immediately gulped.

Russel was a tall, brown-skinned man who, surprisingly, wasn't as intimidating as he appeared. He did, indeed have strong muscles, but he only used them during self defense. He, too, was aware of Murdoc. He was washing a glass cup when he looked up and saw him standing at the counter.

"Medium coffee. Surprise me," Murdoc said, scowling at the ground and kicking at it. He had his hands in his pockets and looked up when he heard a small noise of approval from Noodle.

She hurried to get a plastic cup and turned on one of the coffee machines, shaking because of how scary the man was. If she messed anything up whatsoever, she'd be a dead girl.

Murdoc pulled out his wallet and searched through for a five note bill, hoping it'd be enough. Coffee these days was so overpriced and he wished he could live in the 1920's. As he slid out the note, Noodle appeared in front of him, standing on a wooden stool behind the counter. She placed the cup on the counter with shaky hands and said, quietly, "That'd be €3, sir."

Smiling at his estimation of money, he slapped the note onto the counter, making the small girl jump. Russel watched as she took it and opened the cash register, setting the note in its desired spot. Noodle got two one euro coins and set them on the counter, closing the register. "Would you like y-your receipt, sir?"

Murdoc mumbled a quick "no" and walked away, settling his eyes upon a booth that held Stuart. He thought that the man was quite interesting; his blue hair, no eyes, and tallness made Murdoc intrigued as he strolled over to him, sighing and tapping the table.

Stuart looked up from his screen and slid his headphones off, looking up at Murdoc. His eyes widened at the sight as Murdoc asked to sit down. Stu didn't hear him, he was too busy studying the man's features. Sure, he was a little scary at first, but he was also very handsome.

"May I sit 'ere?" Murdoc motioned for the seat across from Stuart and smiled friendly-like. Stu nodded hesitantly, gulping and slowly looking back at his computer screen. He continued tapping away at the keys, but kept his headphones hanging around his neck, just in case Murdoc said anything.

Russel and Noodle's shift was almost over, and their replacements were waiting in the break room. However Murdoc looked, Russel didn't care about. The man looked as if he'd gone through a lot that day, and most likely needed a good talk. It was good that he sat with Stuart, as Russ knew that Stu was a nice guy.

Noodle finished cleaning the last cup as she sighed, untying her apron and hanging it upon a metal hook. She stood next to Russ as he copied her actions. "That guy over there," she whispered, pointing to Murdoc. "He scares me. A lot. Promise me you'll kill 'em if he hurts me?"

Russel chuckled and ruffled her hair. "Sure. But, he does seem like a nice guy." Noodle gasped quietly and lowered her voice.

"Russ, he's horrifying!" She grasped his shirt, pulling down and whining. Russ chuckled again and shook his head.

"Maybe we should go talk to 'im?" Russel asked, looking down at Noodle. Noodle's eyes widened as her lip quivered.

"No, no! He'll kill us--" Russ cut her off by leaving through the small door and entering the dining area. "What're you--" He turned around and picked Noodle up, sighing as she struggled.

"We're gonna go talk to 'im and you ain't gonna fight me, aight?" He continued to the booth that was occupied by the other two men as Murdoc looked over his shoulder, hearing footsteps.

Noodle whined and moved her head to Russel's ear. "Please don't make me do this!" She whisper-screamed. Russ rolled his eyes.

"Comin' to sit with us? We could use company; Face-Ache here doesn't know how to spark a damn conversation." Murdoc chuckled and scooted over, letting Russel sit next to him. Noodle scurried over to Stu and plopped down on the booth beside him.

Stuart gasped, his mouth opening. "Face-Ache...?" He repeated, a hurt look planted on his face.
