11. New Guardian

Daciana's POV 

Little did I know that things would somehow turn out like this...For I had a remaining living relative and  no one had ever told me about it. I tried to rember....And I kept forcing my mind to remember my twin brother Gavril...but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't remember a thing. My blackout at the time was too strong to let me remember about my family. 

-"This is extraordinary!"-exclaimed Alexander, who was truly amazed with our situation. 

I was nothing but a specimen. My clan had accepted me as their alpha and now I could be presented as some weird mutation in the clan and maybe I could even be taken from my position. It wasn't as if I had always wanted the damn position, but now that I thought about it, it seemed like I had been quite inconsiderate towards my late father and mother. The world had stopped moving that day...I felt like I wanted to runaway, cry and maybe even hide under a rock. 

-"This could only mean that you are also a posible mutation"-said Alexander while Gavril pointed towards himself. 

-"I'm not a mutant. I am able to turn wolf-like, but I'm not a mutant"-Gavril replied.

-"Let's just say that you and your sister are the only ones who can achieve a half-wolf form. Besides that, you certainly have vampire blood in you  as well​."-Alexander insisted.

Gravril frowned.

-"They are still trying to digest it, Einstein"-said Sorin walking towards us.

Alexander rolled his eyes.

-"This isn't a game you know. This holds the fate of what we know about vampires, werewolves and even hybrids. Right now, these kids don't know what they'll shift into, specially Daciana."-said Alexander, who suddenly spoke with a very serious tone of voice.

Alexander placed his hands on my shoulders and forced me to look at him directly in the eye.

-"Daciana. You are the one that worries me the most"-he began. "I may be going nuts with this research, but this is serious. The blood sample we took not so long ago, has shifted and taken vampiric properties over your wolf genes."-

I took a step back and shook my head. Sorin looked at Alexander and then at me. He walked towards us and stood in front of me.

-"Explain"- Sorin spoke coldly towards the man.

Alexander's eyes widened a little and then he smirked amused by my vampiric friend.

-Daciana could become a vampire any time soon"- spoke Alexander.

Sorin turned to face...a look that I've never seen before sat on his face. Everything seemed to be spinning. I heard him call my name and before I could muster a word, he pulled me towards him. I looked around and noticed that everyone had stopped. Just when Sorin pulled me into his arms, everyone stopped on their tracks.

-"I'm not letting you touch her!"- said Sorin.

I looked over my shoulder and saw Sam with some of his men. He seemed a bit sad. Yet, I was unable to comprehend the gravity of the situation.

-"You know very well that she can't stay out here, Sorin!"- Sam replied strongly. "If word gets out---"

-"To hell whatever word gets out!"- Sorin raised his voice and it suddenly startled me. "I can't let her be locked up"

I looked up at him. His eyes were full of seriousness, sincerity and had a glimpse of sadness in them. For some reason, my heart began pounding while I was being held in his arms.
