I guess I mistook it all along... Daciana's words echoed in her mind as she felt the pain leaving her body. She thought she was finally dying, but then, she felt cold drops of water falling over her cheek. Daciana slowly opened her eyes and saw Sorin looking down at her with tear-filled eyes. She blinked a couple of times confused. His lips weren't covered in blood at all. He had returned to his normal self and his vampiric instincts had gotten under control.

-"You stupid girl..."- said Sorin with a trembling voice. "I could never bite you"

Her eyes grew wide opened as she realized that she had never been bitten by Sorin and that all those things she had said were all part of her imagination. She tried to sit up and Sorin helped her.

-"If you're wondering what happened.. just when I rested my head over your shoulder, you suddenly began shaking, your eyes kept changing colors and then you lost consciousness"- Sorin explained. "If you want me to bite you so you can die, then I won't do it, no matter how much you beg me"

Daciana simply sat there in silence while her cheeks slowly turned crimson. Sorin smiled kindly at her and rustled her hair.

-"I'm sorry"- she whispered.

Sorin stood up and extended her hand towards her. She looked up at him confused. After a few seconds, she took his hand and be helped her stand up. Daciana Lupu looked directly into Sorin's eyes. It was something she could not explain...she felt something very strange as she stared at him, something she had never felt before. The only thing she new was that she was unable to take his eyes off him at the moment. Her feelings were a mess, but there was something there that she couldn't quite tell what it could be no matter how hard she tried to find at least a hint that could let her know.

-"Daciana?"- asked Sorin still concerned for her.

-"Huh?"- she finally came to and realized that she had been standing there staring at Sorin without saying a word.

She immediately looked away while trying to hide her reddened face.

-"I-I-m fine. I was just lost in thought"- she managed to cover it up.

Sorin simply rustled her hair and smiled.

-"Okay. I don't know if they are still looking for you or not, but...do you wanna go out for a walk or something?"- he asked her.

He knew she couldn't stay locked up forever.

-"I'd ask you to go out to town in this side, but you know...this is more of a vampiric dimension and right now you are too sensitive to go out there and confront all of those vampires"- he continued.

Daciana's eyes suddenly lit up and she opened her mouth slightly to speak, but immediately closed it and shook her head while a small smile spread on her face.

-"It's alright. Could we instead go back to the library and keep up with the research?"- Daciana responded.

Sorin sighed and dropped his shoulders. He simply surrendered and did as she asked. Vlad had watched them for a while but made sure to not make a noise or make his presence noticeable. He watches the two of them walk down the hall and take a right. His eyes couldn't leave them at all. After thinking for a while, he walked away and headed to his quarters.

. . .

Meanwhile...

Gavril was walking around the manor aimlessly. He found himself impressed with the majestic wooden stairs that decorated the middle of the manor. It was true that he had no idea for how long the manor had existed, but he couldn't deny that it was a beauty despite the dark past that it contained.

-"Aren't they a beauty?"- he heard someone speak right next to him all of the sudden.

He looked to his left and found Dacia looking at the staircase as well.

-"Jesus, mom! You almost killed me there!"- he cried out.

-"I should've guessed that my sister wouldn't leave anything that had to do with me on this place. But I guess Daciana changed things a little after her death"- continued Dacia.

She walked up the stairs and placed her hand on the cold wooden handles. Gavril simply followed her without saying a word. They reached the second floor and she headed down a hall. She knew right where she was going. Gavril simply kept following her without asking her where she was going to. Dacia stoped in front of a room. There was a wooden door painted in white, just like it had been years ago. She chews on her lower lip as she slowly reaches with her left hand towards the golden handle. Just when she's about to turn it--

-"What. Are you. Doing?- she immediately pulled her hand away and turned around to find a man standing not so far from them with his arms folded on his chest. "Just because you used to live here a very long time ago, doesn't mean you can walk around the manor and do as you please. You are no longer a werewolf, understood? You have no right to do as you please in our clan's manor"

She tried not to click her tongue. Certainly, Sam had her guarded all the time and it had been quite a task to loose some of her guards and they were still able to find her.

-"Please leave this area and refrain yourself from wandering to restricted areas of the manor"- continued the man as he gestured them to leave.

Gavril frowned. He was about to say something when Dacia placed her arm before him and stopped him from doing anything reckless. She simply walked away followed by Gavril and didn't a say word to the man. Dacia closed her hands into tight fists and headed towards the tents that were placed right in front of the manor. She knew she'd find Sam there. She gestured Gavril to stay outside and entered on her own. Just as she expected, Sam was there talking with Alexander.

-"Am I some prisoner or something, Sam?!"- Dacia shouted at him. "You're telling me I cannot even peek at my old room?!"

Sam turned around briskly and looked at her quite startled.

-"Look, Dacia. You don't live here anymore, hence you are not allowed to wander the manor as you please"- sad Sam.

-"But I am part of this clan!"- she retorted.

-"No you're not!"-

Sam's words were louder than ever, so much that even Alexander took a few step back as soon as he heard him. Dacia's eyes grew wide and let her arms drop right next to her body. She knew that she had left that clan ages ago, but she had always wanted to come back...She had always wanted to come back and see what had happened with her mother, how was her son after being taken away...She wanted to look for her other sisters...but she couldn't. Dacia Lupu had always wanted to return home, yet she couldn't and now it seemed as if she would never go back to that place she once called home, not even to remember her happy memories in that manor.

-"Sam..."- Alexander spoke behind him.

Dacia simply turned around and closed her hand into tight fists.

-"It's alright"- Dacia spoke with an icy tone. "I understand."

She walked away as fast as she could and left the tent. Sam averted his gaze, pulled a chair and sat down while letting a heavy sight.

Gavril saw Dacia and ran towards him.

-"Mom! There you are! Where were you?"- asked Gavril.

She tried to avert her gaze quickly, but even so Gavril had managed to catch a glimpse of her teary eyes.

-"It doesn't matter, Gavril. You shouldn't be so concerned about me"- she responded. "After all, I'm just an outsider, so it's no surprise that I'd be prohibited to wander through the territory as I please"

She didn't say anything further and walked away. Gavril simply watched her wishing to console her, but he knew well enough that his words wouldn't change a thing.
