Daciana Lupu sat in a corner of her room. A painful throbbing head, along with a loudly pounding heart and a heavy breathing cycle. There were drops of sweats all over her face. Her face paler than ever and her eyes wide as plates. The girl had her right hand on her chest, pressing tightly against it as of wanting to grab her heart and take it out from within her flesh and bones.
"Daciana! Pick me!"
"No! You know what your fate is, already!"
"Daciana, choose me"
"No, Daciana. Choose me instead"
She slowly bent forwards and placed her right hand on her forehead while chewing her lower lip. It was truly painful...Her body was quivering and she was unable to stop, unable to ask anyone to help her stop whatever it was taking over her. Certainly her time was almost up. Despite being covered by an immense wave of pain, she slowly stood up while using the wall to stand properly. She took a glance around the room and gave a half smile while trying to take small steps away from the wall. Her eyes kept changing color unstoppably. Daciana Lupu took a deep breath and made up her mind.
. . .
-"I will do it then, father"- said Sorin while stopping Vlad in the middle of the hallway.
The vampire leader slowly turned to face his adoptive son. His face was expressionless as usual, but there was something gleaming in his eyes. Vlad knew that it had been a hard choice for Sorin, but he also knew that it would be hard for her as well.
-"Very well"- he said.
-"That's it? That's all you can tell me now?"- Sorin complained.
-"Could you please have some patience? Im just going to give you some advice. You must be mentally prepared for what will happen. As a preventive measure, you should go and get some of our provisions and take them with you."-
-"Why?"-
-"A new wolf's appetite is monstrous, imagine what new born could do. No sun and put in place until the new born is already calmed. Otherwise it will overpower you and go rampage, understood?"-
-"Understood"-
-"Also...don't take the wolf with you. Neither of them should be there. It's best for everyone to be done just between the two"-
Sorin knew that if they were to be present, they would never be able to take it out of their minds and live that memory eternally. It wasn't something that everyone should be a participant of. Vlad knew that Sorin would be able to hold it since he was quite tolerant and he was the only one who would be able to control the newborn.
. . .
Daciana opened the wooden door. The cold and humid air wrapped her body. She slowly walked in and began descending the stairs.
. . .
Sorin placed his bag over his shoulders and knocked on Daciana's room. He opened the door and found the room empty. His eyes went wide opened and he dashed down the hall to look for her.
-"DACIANA!"- he shouted.
He kept opening every door he found down the hall. Sorin was well aware that Daciana didn't want to be outside and less would she be able to walk so far alone.
. . .
The wolves, Silviu and Gavril, seemed to be calmed in the dinning room along with Dacia. Dacia's eyes followed him as he ran past them.
-"Why don't you try checking there?"- said Dacia.
Sorin suddenly stopped.
-"What?"- said Sorin.
