-"It's amazing"- said Alexander as soon as Sam walked towards him.
-"You're really a lost case, aren't you?"- said Sam. "What did you find?"
-"Just what I told you! You know...about this being something genetic. This blood sample that the vampire guy gave me is the proof! I compared it with Daciana's blood sample and found almost the same thing in it! Dacia's mutation is supposed to be stronger since she was the one who was bitten...But apparently the young girl lied to us"
Sam frowned at Alexander's statement. As far as he knew, the only thing that the girl has lied them about was the fact that during those four years that she had stayed with Penelope she had been speaking with Silviu and playing mute with the rest of them. Sam placed a hand on Alexander's shoulder and smirked.
-"Explain"- Alexander could sense the seriousness in Sam's tone.
Alexander simply sighed and showed him the images. He compared both mutations and tried to explain that both had strong vampiric mutations.
-"Didn't you say it was genetic?"- said Sam irritated
-"I did! And it is genetic! But the girl has an even stronger mutation! It's like if she were bitten as well. Some vampire bit her too."- said Alexander.
Sam took a step back. He then got reminded of Gretchen, her vampiric mother. He shook his head trying to get the thought out, but it seemed impossible. As far as he knew, Sorin had never bitten Daciana and less with Silviu as her guardian. Yet again, his only guess would be Gretchen.
. . .
Lucian was wandering around when he bumped against Dacia. He looked at he a bit shocked.
-"E-Excuse me"- he apologized, but Dacia simply sighed.
-"Are you really Sorin's brother?"- asked Dacia.
Lucian sighed and then nodded.
-"That's strange...You're a human living among vampires...Why are you living like your brother?"-said Dacia.
Lucian remembered that his brother used to be human back at the days when Dacia was the alpha. By the time, his brother Sorin was always surrounded by vampires as well. Lucian looked down feeling a little awkward. He had also been reminded how affectionate Sorin was towards his girlfriend.
-"What aboyt Elizabeth? I bet those vampires finally got used to her scent at some point, right?"- said Dacia without even knowing Lucian had ever met Elizabeth. "I mean...Sorin had to talk to you about your sister at some point, right?"
Lucian's eyes grew wide opened as soon as he heard the word "sister". For the nineteen years he had been alive, he never had any sisters...All of the sudden, Lucian remembered the accident he had been in when he was just a baby. Could it be that the new wolf took an extra life that day? But if so, how did Dacia even know about their sister? Dacia's expression turned into a puzzled one as soon as she noticed that Lucian had gone pale and that he hadn't even answer her question. She then remembered that Elizabeth had always been locked away to the point where not even Sorin knew about her existence. Dacia immediately covered her mouth. She had said something she shouldn't and now she totally regreted it.
-"I'm so sorry!"- said Dacia.
-"I have been lied to all this time..."- said Lucian.
-"Wait...! I can explain!"-
Lucian turned on his heal and didn't even wait for Dacia's explanation.
. . .
Sorin was on a tree branch lost in his thoughts when his brother Lucian threw a pebble at him.
