10. Zipped mouth

3rd POV

Daciana stood there in pure shock. That's when Gavril ran towards them and sighed.

-"Why did you leave all of the sudden?"- asked Gavril.

Dacia walked towards him and smacked him on the head.

-"Ow! What was that for?!"- he cried out in pain.

Sorin blinked a couple of times startled by the exchange between Dacia and the one called Gavril , the one that now ended up being Daciana's twin brother.

-"Did you tell this people you were a hybrid as well?"- said Dacia.

Gavril simply rolled his eyes. After all, Dacia knew him too well for him to cover that up with an excuse.

-"You're not a hybrid. When will you get that?"- said Dacia while placing her hands on his shoulders and forcing him to look at Daciana. "Does she look like a hybrid to you?"

-"Well..."- Gavril scratched his head in an awkward manner. "I did think she was a hybrid."

Dacia rolled her eyes and sighed.

-"I've been telling you that you're a half breed like her"- said Dacia.

Both Daciana and Gavril looked at Dacia and said at the unison "Could you stop calling me a half breed?" Both looked at each other shocked. Daciana was the first one to avert her gaze. Dacia simply sighed, again, and told them to sit down. Both teens sat down on the grass and waited for Dacia to start with her explanations.

-"Gavril knows half of the story, but he's been in a complete denial"- began Dacia.

-"Stop it..."- Gavril looked down, he knew what Dacia was about to explain.

-"Gavril...she's the twin I talked to you about"-

Gavril's frown deepened. Daciana looked at him a bit worried. In a way, it was good to know that she wasn't the only one who had to deal with secrets and lies.

{Flashback}

-"I don't think we should reveal the gender to Penelope..."-said Emil while he placed his fist on the door's frame.

-"Why? Is it bad to have twins in the clan?"- said Gretchen who was now afraid of her children's future.

Emil walked towards his wife and kneeled before her while taking her hands between his own.

-"When your due, I'll call the old wolf so he can take one of our children away"- Emil's expression was full of sadness.

Gretchen's eyes widened. She shook her head and freed her hands from his.

-"Why? Why do I have to do that?!"- said Gretchen with tears in her eyes.

-"I overheard Penelope talking with some men. If it's a boy, she wants to raise him back at the manor. You know very well that living there isn't the prettiest thing in the world"- Emil knew how it was to be raised by Penelope.

He had been pushed through many hardships. Her group of rouges used to bully him and, at times, torture him for being unable to transform. Once, those rougues said that it was a shame that he wasn't as defying as his late mother. Those words had always stuck to him and had made him want to slowly disconnect from that manor and Penelope herself.

By the time Gretchen was due, Penelope did whatever she could to be present during the labor. Emil was unable to proceed with his plan. During the labor process, the first to born was Daciana. As soon as Penelope saw her and heard her name, she left immediately. Seconds later after she left, Gavril was born. Both twins had grown up in the shack in the forest. When they would go to some family meetings, Gavril was left back home with the old wolf. His identity was a secret to the Lupus, specially to Penelope who wanted to increase her power.
