"MARRIED?!" Dan exclaimed, "They're getting married?!"
"Yes," Phil said, "And we're the men of honor."
"I've never been to a wedding before," Dan said, "Except for my cousin Daisy's when I was like five."
"I remember that actually," Phil said, "You cried for hours because you had to leave me for a week since they were having a short family pre-celebration in California." Phil said.
Dan laughed, "Yeah, that sounds like me. You promised me that when I got back, you'd have your dad take us to the park and out for ice cream. That's the only thing that made me stop crying."
Phil stared at Dan as he began to remember then, every memory from his childhood. He and Dan's longest time apart since they've been in the world was two years(when Phil went to college), and there was still visits and calls. He also came back for holidays with that time. They have been best friends since forever, and that's how it will always be.
"Marriage," Dan said, smiling brightly, "Our best friends are settling."
"Weird, right?" Phil said, "I couldn't believe it when they told me. They've been dating for like three years now though, so I guess it was coming soon since things are so well, but this is just...they used to be so wild and now they're getting married."
"Never forget July fourth in Vegas," Dan said, putting his hand over his heart and looking up at the sky as if it was a memory resting in Heaven.
"Never forget," Phil repeated, saluting to the sky.
"The closest I'd ever gotten to a boob," Dan said, "That day remains in our hearts."
"You were like fifteen! Yet it seems like it just happened a little while ago. And now our friends are getting married in eight months, you're in college studying law stuff, and I reached four million subscribers."
"You did?!" Dan asked.
"Yes," Phil said.
"Congratulations!!" Dan shouted, hugging him happily, "That's so many beans."
Phil laughed, "Yeah, I guess that would be a lot of beans."
"Become super rich," Dan said, "Then I can get out of here and live with you without a job."
"Dan," Phil said, "If you want to drop out-"
"I can't," Dan said, "My mum and dad spent so much money...I can't."
"But I don't want you to be trapped in a place where you're just unhappy and-"
"I'm not always unhappy!" Dan said, "I have Troye here, when he isn't with Tyler, and I have Arin...well, maybe not now since he's being such a dick. But...I like it here," Dan lied.
"You promise?" Phil said, "Because I always feel so guilty when I tell you to leave--when I want you to stay, and you seem so miserable everytime we have to talk over the phone instead of in person. And you know, I live to see you happy because you're just so damn pretty when you are, Dan. And amazing, and I want you to tell me if you're truly feeling trapped."
Dan looked down at the floor, "Phil...I...okay."
"You'll tell me if it gets too much?" Phil asked.
"Yes, I will," Dan said, faking a smile. He didn't want to tell Phil because Phil seemed so set on him having a future, and he didn't want to disappoint anyone, and he didn't want to be talked into staying. He felt bad lying to Phil, something he never did, but he couldn't live with himself if Phil was disappointed in him. For a long time Phil had been Dan's idol, he admired him and everything he did because that's just what how you felt about older kids when you're younger.
