"Do you know anyone named-" the man shook his head an walked off. "...Aurelia and Jackson Pierce." I finish. Great. What now? All afternoon no one knew them. They walk off, they listen then answer, and all answers are no.

A women in a fur jacket with red cat sunglasses walked towards me. Her choppy black hair bounced on her shoulders and her heels clicked.

I began. "Hi, do you know-"

"Aurelia and Jackson Pierce?" She finished. "Yes, I do. Follow me," she said.

She continued forward and I stood there, frozen and shocked. My brain says no but my legs moved. I was following her.

She went to a café and I followed in. She sat down in a seat that was in the corner. Almost all of the sides were covered up except a small opening where you can enter and leave. I hesitated but I sat down in front of her.

"So..." I begin. "You know Aurelia and Jackson Pierce."

"I have already said yes." She replied.

"It wasn't a question. Listen here, we've just met but you're already getting on my nerves. Tell me what you know about them." I said the last part icily.

She chuckled. "You quite are confident."

I kept glaring at her. She glared back. I broke off contact because her eyes were burning through me.

"But your vampire side is too weak." She commented.

"Tell me what you know or I'm leaving." I say.

"Oh, you can leave if you want. Why would you dare to follow a stranger who just simply said that she knows your parents?" She asks.

"I want answers." I reply. "If you're not giving me answers then I'll-"

She cuts me off. "Yes, I know them quite well."

"Spill it out,"

She breathed in and out. "Your mother was treated so differently from her family. She was an orphan. Your father was treated with kindness and all but when they both met, it was hell. They fought when they first met and on, but, eventually they fell in love."

"Tell me something that you know now, not back then." I say.

"There was fighting at the cabin. I guess you remember."

I do remember.

"I raced to your family but they disappeared. Only you were the one I can find."

"W-what did I look like when you found me?" I wanted to know if it's the same as the dream I had last night.

Her eyes looked away but locked on mine. "You were covered in cuts, bruises, and tons of blood. The biggest cut of all was on the center of your back."

She's right, I do have a cut on my back... But this lady brought back past memories. Did she know them fairly in the past?

"Who are you to them? To me?" I ask.

"I was more like a... Bodyguard." She replied. "I found you lying in a cave. You seem to have taken a big fall to get scratches like that."

She continued on, "You were unconscious when I found you. After that, I put you with the Harrisons' and-"

"Wait, you were the one who gave me to Amara's family?" More secrets were with me. "They said they found me."

"Oh... Well... They did. They found you so I gave you to them. I did that to protect you."

Something about that doesn't sound right. "But I'm still not protected." I remind. "I'm a Half, okay? What I want is to just find my brother before dying."
