I sat in bed with my knees against my chest. My eyes were puffy from weeping. A tear rolled down and then another. No one knows my nightmares. No one, ever.

It was 8 PM. My phone buzzed. I don't bother to look at it. I got off of my bed and went to the couch to watch TV. Do you ever just get that feeling where you don't know when to die?

That's what I've dealt with almost my whole life. I'm scared to sleep because there can be someone out there just ready to kill you. It's a nightmare.

"Did you know who I was mates to?"

Amara and I strolled down the hallway. Many students were in the way and we bumped into some people.

"Who?" I asked.

"No one. I haven't found the one." She let out a laugh. I didn't, my stare was focused on the ground.

"Hey, you okay?" She must've noticed.

"I'm fine." I said.

"That's like, the biggest lie in the whole wide frickin world." She said.

"It's nothing. I'm fine." I walked ahead and she yelled out, "See you at lunch!"

I strolled down the halls until someone hooked their arm around mine.

"Hi Breeze!" Ugh, pop girl Taylor and her squad. "I'm so sorry for calling you a monster before. Here, have this." She handed me a cup of coffee.

"No thanks." I said and unhooked my arm from hers. A couple more girls came up to me. Then a group of girls surround me. Oh my god, can they all just move? I waved and tried to get through them but they wouldn't budge. They were all talking at once. Are they just nice to me because I'm mates with Jurian? Gee wiz.

"Guys! Please, get away from me!" I shout. But apparently, they couldn't hear because everyone kept on talking. I pushed my way out of the mob of girls and ran. They chased me. Oh geez, this is not my kind of morning.

I turned and went to the other hall. I stopped for a bit to catch my breath but someone grabbed my arm and pulled my into the abandoned library. Right after the door closed I turned into a wolf and got on top of the person and placed my paw on its neck.

"Breeze, it's just me. Paw off my neck please."

Jurian Stone.

I jumped off of him and turned back to human and I realized that I scratched his neck.

"Um, sorry." I simply said.

He got up and dust off his jeans then transitioned his hand to touching his neck.

"Nah, it's okay."

Why did he help me? Shouldn't he be mad that I scratched his neck? Well, he doesn't seem like the 'getting-mad' type. "You know, it's not nice to stare." He jokes.

"I'm not." I replied. "I'm observing."

"What did you observe?"

"That you're not mad at me for scratching you?"

He laughed and said, "So observing."

I coughed. "Well, am I right?" I asked.

"Depends. If someone bothers something that's mine, that person is dead meat."

His eyes transitioned to mine. Was he referring that to me? His blue eyes smiled.

"So, last year, rumor says that people has never seen you as a wolf before. That true?"

"That's true." I replied.

"What your stone?" He asked.

It's true that no one saw me as a wolf. But no one saw my stone. Every wolf has a stone on their forehead. It can be anything, actually. I never told anyone about my sign. But why does Jurian want to know? Why is he so curious about me?

"Tell me yours first." I said. He nod his head and turned into a wolf. His honey-colored fur shined and his stone was Labradorite.

He turned back to human and gave me the it's-your-turn look. I turned into a wolf again. My amber colored fur made my stone, Ametrine, bright.

"I've never seen that kind of sign." He said astonished.

I turned back to human and sheepishly shrugged. "Yeah. Well, I better go to class." I was about to turn but Jurian grabbed my wrist and dragged me out the door. I thought he was going to take me to class but he went the opposite direction.

"Where are you dragging me?" I questioned.

"Let's skip today." He answered.

"What?!" I shout. "It's the second day!"

"Well, I'm sure they can survive without us." He gave me a smirk.

"You're crazy."

"I know." We reached outside and to the parking lot. He unlocked his convertible and lets go of my wrist. He opened the door. "What are you doing? Get in." He nod to the passenger side. I sigh and got in. He's definitely crazy.
