"Excuse me? Aren't you gonna get in the car, M'lady?" shouted Jurian.

I giggled as I pulled my scarf to my neck. I was walking in the parking lot and Jurian wanted to give me a ride but I said no. Now, he's not taking it.

"Oh, please? I'm your mate. Let me spoil you." He said, rounding to a stop in front of me. He got out of the car and walked towards me. He pulled my waist towards him and locked me into a bear hug.

"Please?" He asks.

I shook my head as I burst into giggles. "No, Jurian! I'd rather walk home."

He lets go of me. "Okay, then. I'll walk home, too."

I gaped. "But it's so cold and yours is further from the school!"

"So is yours," He said.

"Yeah, but it's not that far."

"Well, then I guess mine's not that far away." He grinned.

I rolled my eyes.

"Hey, don't roll your eyes." He said, pouting.

"I can whenever and if I want." I say. "I can't believe the Halloween dance is in two days."

Jurian nods in agreement. "I know, right? But, hey, you are my date so that makes it better."

I grinned. Jurian confessed to me two weeks ago. He said it so confidently that I almost didn't believe him. Jurian likes me. And I like him. He knows that, too. But we aren't in a relationship... Yet.

"Did you choose a costume, yet?" He asks.

I shook my head. "No, but Amara and Taylor are gonna help me." I paused. "Honestly, I've never been to any dances or trick-or-treating."

His jaw dropped. "You haven't?"

I nod.

"Wow," he said. "Wow..."

I laughed and pushed him away. "Now, I have to go or else I'm going to be late!"

: : : : : :

"What took you so long?" snapped Taylor when I reached the mall.

"I... I had some tr-troubles." I say out of breath.

"Forget that. Let's go!" shouted Amara.

Amara linked her arm around mine as Taylor dragged us into shops. She took us to the farthest one.

COSTUUUMES

We went in. It was fairly big, I'll say. Amara hopped over to the pirates costumes and Taylor went to the blood dripping ones. I honestly thought she's was going to be an angel or something.

I went to the angel section and tried to look for one that's good.

Nope.

I went to the pirate ones.

Nope.

I went to the clown ones.

Nope.

As I turned to leave a clown charged at me. I screamed. I punched and kicked it. The person fell onto the ground and I looked at it wide-eyed. I walked around the clown but they grabbed my ankle and so I yanked it away and got on top of the clown and twist its arms behind its back. Taylor and Amara stood there confused. Luckily the clerk didn't notice.

"Breeze! Let go! You're hurting me!"

Dax?!

I stood up and freed his arms. The clown took off his mask and Dax appeared, breathing heavily.

"Dax! You asshole!" Taylor began kicking his side.

Amara rolled her eyes and went back to looking at costumes. I helped Dax up as he laughed. I curl my lip. "So that's your costume?"

He nods. "I need a red balloon, though. I'm going to be the It clown so that means no mask for me."

I furrow my brows. "Why don't you just go as yourself? You're already scary enough."

"Buuuurn!" laughed Taylor.

"Oh, whatever." He rolled his eyes and laughed after.

"Do you even know how to do the Pennywise makeup?" asks Taylor.

Dax shook his head and Taylor let out a disappointing sigh. "Then you can't be the It clown if you aren't wearing any makeup!"

Suddenly, they were having a war with words. I left and Amara waved me to her.

"I found you a costume!" beamed Amara.

She handed me the costume and I looked at it. "...Cat woman?"

She nods with a grin. She turns me around and pushes me to the fitting room. "Now, go try it on!"

I sighed. I got into a small fitting room and took off my clothes one by one. I grabbed the costume and unfold it. I came with a zipper in the back. I unzipped it and got in with my legs first. It was hard to put it on because it was a tight leather costume. Lastly, I put on the mask. I opened the curtains and awkwardly walked out.

"Holy hell!" screamed Amara.

Dax whistled and Taylor's jaw dropped.

"Man. If you don't want Jurian I'm single." commented Taylor.

I giggled. Amara came over and walked around me.

"How do you feel?" She asks.

"Umm... I don't know. Good?" I respond.

She snaps her fingers. "Let's take that one!"

She jumps up and down and grabs my hands. "I can't believe you're finally celebrating Halloween!" She hugs me.

She seemed so happy that I didn't want to ruin the moment. I'll just do this for her.

"Okay, I need to change." I say, chuckling. Amara lets go of me and I went back into the fitting room.
