(y/n)'s house

with three days off from school—a small mercy for your bruised foot, you found yourself with the rare luxury of unhurried time to relax. the house was unusually still.

you slipped into bed, the solace of your sheets, combined with the sweet scent of your homemade tiramisu, feeling like pure bliss. savouring a spoonful, you let the creamy texture dissolve on your tongue, perfectly blended with coffee and mascarpone.

scrolling through your laptop, you picked the latest unwatched episode of spy x family.

the theme song soon filled your room, and you sighed, allowing the tension of the day to slip away, if only for a little while.

__

thud thud.

a series of loud knocks on your bedroom door startled you awake. wincing and hobbling over, you braced yourself for one of your father's late-night demands—another errand, a misplaced frustration, or an incoherent rant you'd have to endure.

but when you opened the door, the sight before you made you doubt your sanity.

levi stood in front of you, his countenance as indecipherable as always. the hallway light split into the room, casting shows across his features, making him appear both familiar and distant.

your brain bombarded you with questions, each one colliding with the next.

what the hell was going on? were you dreaming? were you hallucinating from the pain?

you blinked hard, rubbing your eyes to clear your foresight, but levi didn't disappear.

"your father let me in," he stated matter-of-factly, like if that explained everything.

it was 3:40 am.—the house was deadsilent, save for the hum of the refrigerator downstairs. what could have brought him to your house at that hour? you were completely thrown.
